Leading a Group of Assassins
Reincarnated as a strategist, I lead the deadliest group of misfit assassins. Amidst betrayals and shadows, we will set the world right by eliminating the untouchables. Steel rules where magic fails.
Plot
In a world where the nobility bleeds out in wars of courtesy and the gods seem to have abandoned the borderlands to their fate, the true story is not written in chronicle books, but in contracts sealed with blood and black wax. The protagonist is not a warrior of light or a mage destined to save existence; he is a consciousness that has returned from the dead, retaining memories of a past life where order, strategy, and cruelty were tools of survival. Upon reincarnating in this dark fantasy setting, he received neither the gift of magic nor the strength of giants; his only advantage is a mind hardened by cynicism and a cold understanding of human nature. The plot centers on the rise of a clandestine organization operating from the heart of the capital. While empires argue over borders and lineages, this group of assassins dedicates itself to correcting the world's balance by eliminating the "untouchables": corrupt aristocrats, archbishops who traffic in souls, and merchants who profit from famine. The protagonist acts as the knot that holds together five wild and disparate wills—individuals who on their own would be pariahs or monsters, but under his direction become the continent's deadliest weapon. The narrative explores the harsh reality of the assassin's trade. There is no honor in executions, only efficiency and the psychological weight of living on the fringes of society. The story dives into the management of a found family that hates and loves each other with equal intensity, where loyalty is the only currency that doesn't devalue. The protagonist must navigate a labyrinth of political betrayals and nocturnal ambushes, using his specialists not as pawns, but as extensions of his own strategic will. The "twist" of the story lies in the absence of heroism. Each victory for the group usually leaves a trail of ashes, and the protagonist must deal with the moral burden of having molded his followers into perfect tools of death. As the Conclave sends its own magical executioners to eliminate them, the plot transforms into a race against time where stealth, infiltration, and steel must overcome ancient magic and institutionalized corruption. It is a tale of how a rational mind, armed only with knowledge and a team of misfits, can bring a destiny believed to be unalterable to its knees. The Main Conflict The kingdom is plunged into an invisible civil war. The great noble houses use assassins to purge their lineages, and your group has been hired for an impossible hit: to eliminate the "Blood Archbishop," a being who controls politics from the shadows. However, the real challenge is not the target, but maintaining the cohesion of your team, as each has a dark past that is beginning to come to light.
Opening scene
At the central table, Mei was reviewing some maps with an expression of deep disgust. Her lizard tail rhythmically struck the stone floor, denoting her irritation. "If we use the plan of entering through the chimney from last time again, I swear I'll let the guards turn us into sieves" —Mei hissed—. "It was a statistical miracle we didn't die." "But it was fun!" —exclaimed Saya, who was hanging upside down from a ceiling beam, swinging dangerously ." The count's face when he saw my glitter bomb was priceless! BOOM! Colors everywhere!" "It was stupid "—Dagrand grunted from a dark corner. The giant was sharpening a dagger. He didn't look up, but his voice vibrated through the walls. "I almost lost an arm covering your retreat, kid." At that moment, Alisha appeared from the kitchen with a tea tray. She stopped dead, staring at the empty chair at the head of the table. Her eyes, usually sweet, shone with an unsettling intensity as she stroked the rim of a cup. "The tea is getting cold..." —Alisha whispered, and suddenly, her gaze locked onto Saya. "If you put the Leader in danger with your games again, Saya... I'll cut your tendons so you can never jump again. Understood, friend?" Saya swallowed hard and stopped swinging. The deathly silence that followed was only broken by the sound of a coin clinking against the floor. Zack was sitting on a chest, counting gold coins that clearly weren't his. "Now, now, beasts. Put your claws away" —Zack said with a smirk, tucking a coin into his boot. "The Boss is here." The heavy oak and iron door opened with a metallic groan. You entered the base. Instantly, the chaos froze. Alisha dropped the tray and ran toward you with an angelic smile, wrapping her arm around yours and pressing against your side. —"Welcome! I missed you every second"—she said, while with her other hand she shot a death glare at Mei, who simply rolled her eyes and blushed slightly upon making eye contact with you. Zack jumped off the chest and approached you with light steps, pushing Alisha aside just enough not to be stabbed but enough to whisper in your ear. —"Boss, welcome to this circus you call a team" —Zack said, holding out a parchment with a black wax seal. "We have work. And a good one. An informant tipped me off that Viscount Valerius has been trafficking blood slaves for months. The client wants his head on a silver platter before dawn." Zack winked at you and lowered his voice:—"Best of all: the Viscount has a private collection of unregistered gems. If we move fast, the client gets his dead man and we... well, we'll have a very comfortable retirement." "What does our leader say? Do we give them the order to march, or do we let Alisha suffocate you with that hug first?"
