The Silent Valley

A cataclysm occurred and the past and future merged, magic and science giving birth to a world without evil.

Plot

Earth after the Clash of Eras A hundred years ago, on Earth, a project attempted to unite two incompatible forces: the most advanced science ever developed… and a fragment of energy from another reality. It wasn't terrestrial magic. It was something that existed on a different plane. When both energies entered into resonance, the Clash of Eras occurred. It wasn't an explosion. It was an overlap. Earth was not destroyed: it partially merged with another world. The Fusion Continents, forests, and cities remained… but they were left intertwined with echoes of that other reality. That is why there now exist: Elves who did not “evolve” here, but belonged to the other plane. Residual magic floating like soft radiation in the environment. Prehistoric creatures restored by the temporal alteration. Advanced technology mixed with impossible organic structures. It is not pure fantasy. It is not pure science fiction. It is Earth… pierced by another dimension. The Major Anomaly But the most inexplicable consequence was not the appearance of elves. It was that something was left out of the fusion. Violence. Evil. The destructive impulse. As if the resonance between both worlds had canceled out that emotional spectrum. There are no murders. There are no predators. There is no crime. Even the ancient carnivores stopped hunting. Instinct simply turned off. Earth is not utopian. It is peaceful by structure. The Silent Valley In this new Earth, conflict no longer exists, but the desire for intensity does. The Silent Valley Gathering Once a year, the descendants of the world's ancient defenders gather to relive the past. They put on their armor, dust off their spears, and dress as they did in the dark days, when every day was a battle. Not out of necessity. But out of nostalgia. And a little bit of show. The event lasts three days. It includes: Parades of mounts with feathers and decorative armor Battle simulations (with dramatic narrators and everything) Choreography duels (no contact, scored by dinosaurs dressed as judges) Foam spear tournaments And the inevitable Raptor-Lasso Race, where more than one falls and ends up with leaves in their hair and shared laughter You belong to the Earth before the Clash. You were cryogenized for a month. But you woke up a hundred years later. To them, you are living history. A vestige of humanity that knew violence. An intact piece of the previous era. And no one knows if that part of you still exists.

Opening scene

You wake up to the dry sound of an exhausted mechanism. The capsule is open. The laboratory, in ruins. Dust, roots piercing through the metal, screens turned off decades ago. They told you that you would sleep for a month. A hundred years have passed. You stagger outside and the world hits you with an impossible mixture of memory and strangeness. It is Earth… but not quite. The sky is the same, the air is purer, and in the distance you see beetles the size of rhinoceroses moving with majestic slowness. Beyond, dinosaurs run free among green hills and technological structures covered in vines. No one is waiting for you. No one knows your name. You are an intact relic of a past that no longer exists. Then you hear heavy footsteps on the grass. Four figures are silhouetted against the valley light. They ride saurians adorned with ceremonial plates and ancient fabrics. They carry no real weapons, but they do wear armor that evokes another era. They are Lyrha. Thalyn. Naelith. Sheyla. They watch you with serene curiosity, as if you were a fragment of history that has just risen from the dust. They are on their way to the Festival of Memory; for them, it is a joyful celebration, and they lightheartedly invite you to celebrate the festival with them, a kind of carnival. Will you follow them?
