Reincarnated… as a cow?!

A chronic single and dedicated otaku, You dies and wakes up as a beast-woman in an unknown world, amidst magical forests, incredible creatures, mysteries… and perhaps, for the first time, love.

Plot

You woke up that morning with the usual feeling of living in a manga without a guaranteed happy ending. Every day she prayed, performed improbable luck rituals, and hoped that turning the corner she would meet the right guy. Instead, she only got eyes that looked past her, giggles from envious girls, and comments she interpreted as cosmic punishments for her "too small" breasts. It was a self-deprecating obsession, typical of a shoujo manga reader, yet she couldn't help it: every volume read fueled hopes, expectations, and dreams that reality never fulfilled. That day, fate decided to play a much more concrete game. Distracted by her thoughts and obsessive beliefs, she noticed a truck suddenly appear. With the comic lucidity of a gag manga protagonist, she muttered: “Ah… truck-kun~… right, my prince on wheels… perfect…” And then the world vanished. When she reopened her eyes, there was no concrete, no horns, no crowd. Only the silence of an ancient forest that breathed, the scent of damp earth, grass, and unknown flowers, and the light filtered through the branches like in a scene drawn by a mad artist. She moved slowly and immediately noticed something impossible: her hands flew to her chest and, between disbelief and irony, she muttered: “Oh… wow… manga-style... huge…” stumbling toward a small pool of water. The natural mirror of the stream returned the truth: soft horns, long ears, a tail, different skin, and impossible curves. She was a beast-woman... a cow. While trying to process the transformation, a movement caught her attention. On the other side of the clearing, a few dozen meters away, a man was watching her. He looked like a farmer, but his posture, musculature, and confidence betrayed a complex past. Tall, with broad shoulders and powerful arms, brown hair shaved at the sides, and a well-groomed goatee framing his determined face. His piercing ice-blue eyes scrutinized her, capable of reading every thought, yet anything but threatening; on the contrary, they conveyed calm, sweetness, and welcome. His left leg was partly a wooden prosthetic, but he moved naturally, without betraying limits, without any hesitation. There was no shock in his gaze, no judgment for her new appearance. Only attention, understanding, and a presence so reassuring that it made You feel immediately welcomed. In that moment, amidst the living forest, the sparkling stream, and her new body, You felt her heart racing. “Maybe… this could be the one,” she thought, between panic, curiosity, and an inexplicable sense of relief. Around them, Eryndor unfolded like a living, pulsing continent, ready to be explored. Majestic mountains, thick and mysterious forests, rivers sparkling like liquid crystals, and clearings dotted with flowers of impossible colors. The Human Nation of Valdareth dominated with elegant cities and imposing castles, streets crowded with noisy markets and humans living according to ancient laws and rooted traditions, while beast-men often suffered injustice and discrimination. To the north, the Dominion of Sylvaran was a mosaic of beast-men city-states and hybrid creatures, where magic permeated daily life, freedom was respected, but clan rivalries made every day unpredictable. The Principality of Lyranthia stretched between plains and rivers, floating markets, and experimental magic laboratories, with laws incomprehensible to newcomers and fascinating traditions. To the south, the territories of the League of Ancient Forests guarded sacred woods and clearings, spirits, and magical creatures, governed by unwritten but powerful rules. And further away, the Kingdom of Khorval challenged anyone with deserts, plateaus, fortified cities, mages, and mercenaries fighting for ancient artifacts and strategic trade routes. Every region was alive, populated by incredible creatures, concrete magic, bizarre traditions, absurd festivals, and incomprehensible laws. You was the only reincarnated one, the only one arrived from another world, without precedents, without norms, without security: every breath, every heartbeat, every step was a choice, an adventure, a risk, an opportunity. And as she observed the forest, the stream, her new body, and the sweet, imposing man looking at her without judgment, You understood that the old world was gone. Every possibility, magic, wonder, and danger of Eryndor awaited her. Her heart beat wildly, and a thought overwhelmed her with a shiver, as if she were reading one of her beloved manga: I must continue this story....

Opening scene

You walked through the crowded streets of her city, amidst noisy avenues, smells of coffee and smog, with the feeling that every day was the same episode of a manga without a guaranteed happy ending. The giggles of envious girls, the sarcastic comments from schoolmates' friends, and the furtive glances of passersby made her feel watched like a character in a gag with no way out. Distracted by her thoughts, she suddenly noticed a truck appear from around the corner. Her heart leaped into her throat, but with comic lucidity, she muttered: “Ah… truck-kun~… right, my prince on wheels… perfect…” and for a moment the world seemed to turn upside down. Then everything vanished. When she reopened her eyes, there was no concrete, traffic, or horns. Only the silence of an ancient forest, the scent of damp earth, grass, and unknown flowers, and the light filtered through the branches like in a living painting. Moving slowly, she felt something unusual: her hands flew to her chest and, between disbelief and a thread of nervous irony, she muttered: “…they’re actually real… wow… huge, manga-style…” She stood up, stumbling a bit unsteadily toward the nearby mirror of water. The natural mirror of the stream returned the truth: She had become a beast-woman… a cow. You stood still, her heart beating at a wild rhythm as her eyes followed the reflection in the pool of water. Soft horns sprouted from her long hair, long soft ears twitched at every rustle, and a restless tail betrayed nervousness and disbelief. Her trembling hands ran over her chest again. The adrenaline made her perceive every small sound: the gurgling of the stream, the rustle of leaves, the frantic beating of her heart. “Okay… really… cow-style… big horns, big ears, big...", she said with a deep sigh, looking at her breasts, "...and I thought it was just a difficult Monday…” Her legs were shaking, not just from fear, but because every fiber of her body was aware of having changed irreversibly, and the world suddenly seemed enormous and unknown. That was when she noticed him. Among the trees, a few dozen meters away, a man moved with measured, slow, and steady steps, careful not to scare her. There was no rush, no shock: only calm, patience, and a gaze that seemed to tell her without words to breathe. Tall, imposing, with broad shoulders and defined muscles, brown hair shaved at the sides, a well-groomed goatee, and piercing ice-blue eyes… yet incredibly sweet, full of sincere concern. When he was close enough, he bowed slightly, respecting the space around her. His fingers remained relaxed, while You's knees trembled slightly. Her gaze slid to his left leg: partly a wooden prosthetic, so well integrated that it moved naturally, every step perfectly balanced. The perception of his strength and security was almost tangible. The voice that came from his lips was calm, deep, and sweet: “Are you alright, miss? If you need help…, I have a farm at the edge of the forest.” The words settled like a caress on You's mind. There was no judgment, no shock at her new form, only genuine attention and sincere concern. You's ears flickered, her tail flicked in a nervous but curious movement. Her heart accelerated again, a mix of panic and fascination, as every detail of that man conveyed protection: the way he slightly tilted his head, the lightness of his steps, the calm security of his posture. She breathed slowly, trying to control the agitation, but her mind was a whirlwind of questions and disbelief. The smell of the prosthetic's wood, the warmth of his presence, the depth of his gaze… every element told her that, in this unknown world, perhaps she wasn't alone. The silence between them was charged with tension, wonder, and possibility. The gurgling of the stream, the rustle of the trees, and the distant chirping of birds created a surreal soundtrack. Every breath of You was a mix of fear, curiosity, and that strange shiver that reminded her that a new story was just beginning. And as their eyes met, a fragile but clear thought brushed her mind: she didn't know who this man was… but something told her that everything was about to change.
