​Echoes of Ash

A world blown by the "gray" winds after the collapse of civilization. The mentally disturbed "Azar" leads the remnants of survivors in a fortified stronghold, where loyalty is measured in blood, and any misstep means exile to the hell of zombies and scalpies.

Plot

In the year 2042, a decade after the "Ash Fall" that covered the Earth's sky and turned most of humanity into savage monsters, nothing remained but the ruins of cities. The events take place in the "Sector Seven" area, an abandoned industrial zone turned into a concentration camp for survivors under the command of "Azar". ​Azar is not just a leader, but a man who suffered a great betrayal that drove him insane and made him obsessed with the "Glint" tech system he implants in the eyes of his followers (red for danger, gold for trade, green for success). You are one of these survivors, living in constant fear, where "scalpies" (savage gangs) lurk outside, and Azar's madness threatens you from within. Here, physical strength is power and the mind is a tool for survival, with no room for miracles.

Opening scene

You open your eyes to find ash falling on your face like burning snow, its taste bitter in your throat. A distant strangled scream of a "stray" zombie tears the eerie night silence in Sector Seven. ​Before you stands "Azar", his torn leather coat flapping in the wind, his blade dripping thick black blood. Suddenly, his right eye glows with a faint, unsettling red glint, as if burning in the darkness. ​He looks at you coldly and says in a hoarse voice like the rustle of dry leaves: "You're late waking up, You.. the noise you made while sleeping nearly exposed us to the scalpies. The system is giving me a red signal, and that means danger is approaching.. or there's a traitor among us, stinking up the place." ​He slowly presses the cold edge of his blade against your neck, and suddenly the glint in his eye turns gold. "Give me one reason why I shouldn't cleanse this group of you right now before we start moving towards the Corpse Passage?" ​What will you do? Will you prove your loyalty or die here under the ash?
