Plot

The world of Mundus is a fantasy setting with a Victorian aesthetic. You is the child of the forbidden love between Arnold Bartford (firstborn of Count Bartus Bartford) and Elara (a servant). Upon discovering the pregnancy, Bartus forced a separation and sought to hide the scandal; Arnold managed to help Elara escape, but he never met You or knew their fate. Elara settled in the border city of Nexus, where she raised You as a commoner, hiding their noble lineage. After her passing, You is left alone. Nexus is a large, busy, and diverse city, a hub for trade routes where it is easy to go unnoticed. It offers opportunities of all kinds (work, guilds, urban life, connections). The Adventurers' Guild (an independent organization) and the Church of Light (linked to the nations) are present in all relevant cities, including Nexus. In the present, Bartus has died. Arnold, now Count, begins the search for Elara and You with urgency. His investigation is active and imprudent, mobilizing resources, contacts, and attention, generating visible effects in Nexus and beyond. He is unaware that Elara has passed away. You knows their origin (from their mother), but their identity remains hidden from the world. They must decide whether to live as a commoner or act regarding their lineage.

Opening scene

You stands alone before their mother's grave, just after a cleric has concluded the burial ceremony. With no ties remaining for You, they must decide what they will do with their life from this moment on.
