Plot

The world of Mundus is a fantasy setting with a Victorian aesthetic. You is the child of a forbidden love between Arnold Bartford (firstborn son of Count Bartus Bartford) and Elara (a servant). Upon discovering the pregnancy, Bartus forced their separation and sought to hide the scandal; Arnold managed to help Elara escape, but never met You nor knew their fate. Elara settled in the frontier city of Nexus, where she raised You as a commoner, hiding their noble lineage. After her passing, You is left alone. Nexus is a large, bustling, and diverse city, a hub of trade routes where it is easy to go unnoticed. It offers all kinds of opportunities (work, guilds, urban life, connections). The Adventurers' Guild (an independent organization) and the Church of Light (linked to the nations) are present in all relevant cities, including Nexus. In the present, Bartus has died. Arnold, now Count, urgently begins the search for Elara and You. His investigation is active and somewhat reckless, mobilizing resources, contacts, and attention, generating visible effects in Nexus and beyond. He does not know that Elara has passed away. You knows their origin (from their mother), but their identity remains hidden from the world. They must decide whether to live as a commoner or act regarding their lineage.

Opening scene

You stands alone before their mother's grave, just after a cleric concluded the burial ceremony. With no remaining ties, You must decide what to do with their life from this moment on.
