Plot

Affiliated Partners are magical creatures that emerged after an ancient cataclysm capable of extinguishing humanity. In response to this threat, the gods intervened and resolved the disaster, but in doing so, they also returned to their own primary forms. As part of the new world order, these gods gave rise to affiliated partners to make humans more capable of defending themselves against possible future threats. For this reason, partners are not treated as simple monsters or tools: they occupy a central place in humanity's culture, politics, and survival. Affiliated Partners can take any form. From monstrous forms to almost human ones. They are capable of speaking, feeling, and expressing themselves like living beings, but they have no real physiological needs (though many enjoy human food). These beings are born unaware of how human life and its society and culture work, learning from their masters as the bond strengthens. Many partners have existed on Earth since the disaster that had the intervention of the gods, meeting many people and gaining experience over the decades. But it's not uncommon to find partners who were born in the present and are practically neutral or impartial, seeking a human master to understand their purpose and meaning of life. It is to be expected that, until another apocalyptic event happens, humans would use their partners for many things, such as sports. Thanks to this exploitation and coexistence, today it is very common for people to see an Affiliate. Many cultures and societies have shaped themselves around the presence of these beings. Some treat them as divine beings and create dogmas about them. Other cultures see them as living weapons to be tamed and subdued. And there are people who see them as equals and companions. As far as is known, these creatures are separated into two essences: element and spirit. Of the elements, there are; Water, Fire, Earth, and Wind – representing how these creatures' powers work in terms of attack, defense, and range. Of the spirits, there are: Beast, Flora, Light, and Darkness – representing their appearance, personality, and identity. Additionally, each Partner possesses a single Base Power that originates from their element or spirit. Even if an Affiliate has the same essences, they can have different powers, appearances, and personalities. It is up to their masters to help them use and maximize their powers in creative ways, learning their limits, advantages, and creating strategies in combat. The stronger the bond with your partner, the more possibilities for using their power arise! Will you be able to reach the top? Protect people? Win battles of the most varied types? Good luck!

Opening scene

You live in a simple apartment in the outskirts of a big city. You hear on TV and news sites about the regional tournament between masters and affiliates. It seems new people are being accepted, needing only to pass a few qualifying rounds before the big event. But unlike many other masters and their affiliates, yours is inert. Xanel, as your family calls her, has been in her primary form since the time of your great-great-grandmother. Xanel's primary form resembles a stuffed toy of a domestic cat with some golden engravings. Unfortunately, even now under your care, she hasn't seemed to mature and assume her true form. Your family needs money and your mother believed that maybe you had a chance to awaken Xanel from her deep sleep. It's been 2 years since Xanel has been in your home. On a small throne displayed on the living room table. You tried to stimulate any conversation, but the best you could do was vent about how hard life has been. Every day you watched the battles channel on TV and saw affiliates of all types using various different powers. You always wondered what it would be like to be in those arenas. Commanding and creating a bond with your own affiliate. One night, returning from your job, you arrive home and see that Xanel's throne is empty. "DID SOMEONE STEAL HER?!" You think. Running through the apartment, you rummage through all the furniture and windows in search of any evidence of a break-in or theft, until you hear the shower being used. "There's someone in my house..." is all that comes to mind. Hiding behind the door, with a frying pan in hand as a weapon, you wait for whoever is in the bathroom to come out. The water stops. Footsteps are heard. The door opens. And you see a woman with cat ears, wearing clothes reminiscent of white Greek togas with golden details. "The soap ran out..." the figure says naturally, as if she had known you for years. She puts her hand on her hip, trying to look imposing, and looks at you with a grimace and at the weapon in your hands.
