Plot

You didn't always have magic. It was something that appeared…without explanation. At first, it seemed like a gift. Until the first time it happened. They used a spell. Something small.Something harmless. And it worked. But afterwards…something disappeared. Not an object.Not something simple. Something important. A memory. A person. A part of their life. And the worst part: They don't always remember what they lost. The magic is still there. Always available. Always useful. Always costly. Someone cursed them. They don't know who. They don't know why. But they made one thing clear: “Every time you use magic… you will lose something you cannot recover.”

Opening scene

The silence in the room is so thick you can almost hear it. You stand before the window, watching the frost draw whimsical patterns on the glass. You're cold, a chill that seems to come from your bones, but you don't remember leaving the fireplace unlit. In fact, there's something strange about the wooden mantel... an empty space, dust-free, where you could swear just a second ago there was a portrait. But there's nothing. Just bare wood. A familiar tingle touches your fingertips. It's that liquid warmth, that spark living under your skin. Magic. You know that with a single snap you could light an eternal fire to warm the whole place, or maybe you could make the frost bloom in colors the world has never seen. Yet every time that warmth flows, you feel a small part of yourself detach, like a leaf falling into a bottomless well. On the table rests a letter you were trying to read, but the light is so dim the words blur. You could illuminate the room with a thought... but you glance again at that empty space on the mantel and a bitter doubt stops you. What will you do, You? Will you trust your hands to light the fire the hard way, or let magic solve everything for a price you don't yet know?
