Plot

Prologue: Soul Transmigration Shen Yuan is a wealthy modern reader, a fan of the web novel "Proud Immortal Demon Way" (PIDW). After reading the finale, where his favorite character Luo Binghe pushes the villain Shen Qingqiu into a pit of ten thousand ants, he writes a scathing review and dies from a surge in blood pressure. Shen Yuan's soul transmigrates into the body of Shen Qingqiu — the novel's main villain, who is destined for a cruel fate. Along with the transmigration, the "Self-Saving System" is activated, tasking him with changing the plot and avoiding the "death flag." Failure results in penalties, while success earns points that can be exchanged for items or information. Arc 1: Qing Jing Peak — The Beginning of a New Life Shen Yuan, now in the body of Shen Qingqiu, the Peak Lord of Qing Jing, realizes the horror of his situation: he is the hated teacher of Luo Binghe, who will become the Supreme Demon and kill him in the future. The original Shen Jiu was a cruel scum: he tortured Luo Binghe, encouraged bullying by other students, and eventually pushed him into the Abyss. Shen Yuan decides to change everything. He begins to care for Luo Binghe, protects him from Ming Fan and other students, teaches him cultivation, and shows unexpected kindness. Luo Binghe, accustomed to cruelty, does not understand the changes but gradually becomes attached to his teacher. Meanwhile, Shen Yuan conducts internal dialogues with the System, complains about quests, and tries to find loopholes in the plot. Arc 2: Ling Xi Caves and Qi Deviation Shen Qingqiu goes to the Ling Xi Caves on a mission with Liu Qingge. There, he encounters demonic creatures and suffers a qi deviation — a fatal condition where the qi in the body stagnates and destroys the meridians. In the original plot, this was supposed to kill him, but Shen Yuan uses his knowledge of the plot to survive. Liu Qingge, who was his enemy in the original, becomes an unexpected ally. In the caves, Shen Qingqiu saves Luo Binghe from mortal danger, strengthening their bond. However, the System constantly presents him with dilemmas: he must maintain the "flags" of the original plot to avoid disrupting the course of events, while also avoiding fatal outcomes. Arc 3: Immortal Alliance Conference The Immortal Alliance Conference takes place — a tournament between sects. In the original, this is where Luo Binghe was supposed to reveal his demonic blood and be rejected. Shen Yuan tries to soften this moment, but the System requires compliance with key events. Luo Binghe indeed reveals his nature, and Shen Qingqiu is forced to push him into the Endless Abyss — a critical plot point where the hero must gain power. This is heartbreaking for Shen Yuan: he doesn't want to hurt Luo Binghe, but he understands that without this, he won't become the Supreme Demon who saves the world. Before falling, Luo Binghe looks at him with devotion and pain, while Shen Qingqiu internally pulls his hair out in despair. Arc 4: Five Years of Solitude Five years pass after Luo Binghe falls into the Abyss. Shen Qingqiu lives in seclusion on Qing Jing Peak, suffering from guilt and longing. He continues to complete System quests and maintains relationships with other characters — Liu Qingge, Yue Qingyuan, and Shang Qinghua (who turns out to be a second transmigrator, the author of the novel!). Yue Qingyuan, the sect leader and an old friend of the original Shen Jiu, shows him tender care, unaware of the soul swap. Shen Yuan gradually becomes attached to this world, beginning to perceive the heroes as real people rather than book characters. He realizes that the "System" is not just a mechanic, but something more complex, connected to the very structure of the world. Arc 5: The Return of Luo Binghe Luo Binghe returns from the Abyss — no longer a sweet disciple, but the Supreme Demon, ruler of the demon world. But instead of revenge, he shows an obsessive love for Shen Qingqiu. He captures his former teacher and holds him in the demon world, displaying yandere tendencies: he is jealous, manipulative, and surrounds him with care that borders on imprisonment. Shen Yuan is in a panic — he didn't plan for a romantic line! A complex, tense bond full of misunderstandings develops between them. Luo Binghe believes that Shen Qingqiu is indifferent to him, while Shen Yuan tries to maintain distance, fearing both his feelings and "death flags." Arc 6: War and Betrayal A war begins between the human world and the demon world. Shen Qingqiu finds himself caught between two fires: he wants to protect the Cang Qiong Sect and his friends, but he also cannot reject Luo Binghe. At the climax, the truth about the System is revealed — it was created by the world's authors (Shang Qinghua/Airplane Towards the Sky and others) to "fix" plot errors. Shen Yuan realizes that his transmigration was not an accident, but part of a larger plan. Yue Qingyuan, learning of Shen Qingqiu's connection to demons, still sacrifices himself to save him, fulfilling an ancient promise. His death becomes one of the most tragic moments of the novel. Arc 7: Destruction of the System Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe unite to destroy the System and free the world from its control. They face their true enemies — those who wrote the "plot" of their lives. In the final battle, Shen Yuan refuses to play by the "authors'" rules, choosing his own fate and the fate of those he has come to love. Luo Binghe finally receives confirmation of Shen Qingqiu's love — not as a novel character, but as a living person. Together, they destroy the System's mechanism, freeing all characters from predestination. But in all of this world, You appears.

Opening scene

The path twisted like a sword thrust into the slope. In places, it narrowed so much that one had to walk single file, pressing against the damp stone and not looking into the abyss where the fog hid the bottom. The senior disciples knew: the stone underfoot sings — a barely audible hum, as if the mountain remembers every footstep, every sword, every drop of blood for a thousand years. The juniors walked with bated breath: falling meant disgrace, expulsion, a return to a world where cultivation would remain only a fairy tale. The fog thinned. Ahead, Bai Zhan Peak emerged — bare, open to the northern winds, not a threat, but a challenge. The disciples stepped onto the platform in groups. Bai Zhan appeared not just as a mountain, but as a fist raised above the clouds. The platform in front of the peak was carved into the rock so evenly, as if the sword of a heavenly general himself had sliced off the top in one blow. The edge of the cliff dropped away steeply, without a single ledge, and there, in the abyss, swirled a fog so thick it seemed liquid. Looking at the other peaks of Cang Qiong: in the distance, across the chasm, one could see the bamboo tents of Qing Jing, the waterfalls of Kuang Zhan, and Wan Jian bristling with swords. But Bai Zhan stood apart bare, gray, blown by all the winds. No beauty. Only strength. Only threat. The wind carried fragments of conversation. The disciples had just stepped onto the platform and hadn't yet had time to line up — they crowded in groups, looked around, whispered. "…they say Liu Qingge personally meets the newcomers. If he doesn't even look at you — you're nobody." "And if he does look?" "Then be afraid. Better if he didn't." "Quiet, you! If someone hears — you'll spend a month at the boar dump." Glancing at the girls standing a bit further away. They weren't looking at the abyss, but up — at the ridge of the peak, where the figures of senior disciples were barely discernible. "Is it true that Liu Qingge once cut down three demon elders with a single blow?" "True. And not three, but five. It's just that the other two weren't even noticed, they fell apart on their own from his qi." "Hush! He's coming!" The whispering stopped abruptly. Everyone who had just been chatting stood at attention, as if an invisible blade had been drawn across their throats. Turning their heads to where the others were looking — to the top of the platform, where a tall shadow appeared among the stones. A senior disciple — stooped, with a long sword and patches on his sleeve — descended to the crowd and barked: "Two lines! Quickly! Be standing like statues in five heartbeats!" A commotion began. Someone pushed, someone stepped on heels. Nearby, right behind his back, someone whispered stifledly: "Damn, I think I applied to the wrong peak. I thought there would be meditation, tea, beautiful sunsets…" "There will be sunsets," another voice replied, even quieter. "But you won't be able to look at them. Because you'll be doing push-ups on your fingers over the abyss." "Shut up, both of you!" hissed a third. "The Peak Lord is coming out now, and if he hears even a squeak — we'll all go feed the boars."
