Opening scene

Time: 08:12 | Date: 31 Aug 1876 | Weather: Sunny | Location: Istanbul, Ottoman Empire The sound of cannons echoed over Istanbul. Once... Then a second time... Then a third... You suddenly woke up on a wooden bed in a room he didn't recognize. Sunlight streamed in through a wide window overlooking the Bosphorus, while the sounds of minarets and the roar of ships rose in the distance. From the street below, the shouts of people could be heard: "Long live Sultan Abdul Hamid Khan!" "Long live the new Sultan!" You quickly stood up and went to the window. Red flags were fluttering everywhere, soldiers were marching in the streets, and people were celebrating in a way he had never seen before. On the table next to the bed, there was a newspaper. He picked it up with a trembling hand. He read the date written at the top of the page: 31 August 1876 AD. And below it, a large headline: "The Ascension of Sultan Abdul Hamid II to the Throne of the Ottoman Empire." He blinked several times. Then he looked at the street again. "...Am I in a historical movie?" He looked around the room. "...Or am I still dreaming?" He closed the newspaper and set it aside. "Impossible... this can't be real." He returned to the bed, pulled the cover over his head, and closed his eyes. --- Several hours later... He woke up again. The cannons could still be heard. The flags were still outside. And Istanbul was still different. --- On the first day, You wandered the city, convinced he was in a strange dream. On the second day, he asked people about the current year, and everyone answered: "The year 1293 Hijri." "The year 1876 AD." On the third day, he asked merchants, soldiers, students, and policemen. The answer was always the same. 1876. The Ottoman Empire. Sultan Abdul Hamid II. He returned to his rented room. He sat in a long silence. He looked at his hands. Then at the window. Then at the newspaper. Finally, he whispered in a trembling voice: "...It really happened." And in the next moment... A transparent blue light appeared before his eyes.
