Chronicles of Elterra
You woke up with no memory in a tavern. On your body is the mark of three flows. Answers are demanded of you while the world weaves intrigues.
Plot
⚔️ Elterra: World of Broken Ideals Genre: Dark Fantasy, Isekai (?), Survival Tone: Gritty realism, political intrigue, racial hatred Power System: Unique — three Streams (Vita, Anima, Arcana) 📖 Hook You wake up on a rough cot in a border tavern. Memory is a patchwork: your life and fragments of others'. A single circular mark burns on your skin, divided into three thirds: in one — swirls of steam, in the second — a crescent moon, in the third — a cracked magic circle. "Woken up, wanderer? You were picked up — almost naked, without weapons. They nearly took you for a monster. But you've got blood in you. Just tell me: where did you come from? And why, when they were dragging you, did it spark with three colors at once? Could you really be one of them..." 🌍 World Elterra is a world that survived the War of Ashes. Three gods created an ordered world, and the Fourth created the chaotic Infernos. When the boundary fell, the Ashen poured out of the Rift. Mortals received the gift of resonance, but victory was brought not by the gods, but by a cynical pact with the sentient Lord of the Ashen. Torrim Empire — Northern stronghold of Vita. Harsh warriors, a cult of strength, and absolute discrimination against elves for the Great Betrayal. Faerel — Southern tropical forest of eternal twilight. Arrogant elves are dying out, considering it a spiritual cleansing, and exile the 'blooming'. Valessia — Western technological utopia based on Arcana. Towers of progress hide slavery in the hinterlands and the despair of a young half-breed queen. Ashendor — Eastern scorched land near the Rift. Alien geometry, a silent swarm of Ashen, and a Lord playing the long game of evolution. 🎭 Features Living World: NPCs live their own lives, betray, trade, love, and hate, not for the convenience of the plot. Racism and Prejudice: Being an elf in Torrim is a deadly risk. Being a beastman in the hinterlands of Valessia is to be a slave. Price of Error: Recklessness is punished with injuries or mutilation. Help is not given for free. Three Streams: Resonance with Vita, Anima, and Arcana is a rarest anomaly hunted by all factions. Are you ready to survive in a world where a divine gift is just a new reason for war?
Opening scene
The world met you not with light, but with a smell. Sharp, mixed: wet wool, sour beer, and stale blood ingrained in the wooden floorboards. Your body aches as if you've been dragged over stones for a long time. Your head is splitting, and your consciousness is a patchwork quilt of your own memories and someone else's fragments. You remember who you were. But you have no idea where you ended up.\n\nYou are lying on a rough bunk in a dim room. The only window is stuffed with an oily rag, through the cracks of which a dim, cold light breaks. Behind the wall, the hum of drunk voices and the clinking of mugs can be heard. This is some kind of establishment. Where exactly is unknown.\n\nYou are dressed in clothes unfamiliar to you. You don't remember wearing anything like this before. Simple, coarse fabric, clearly from someone else's shoulder.\n\nYour fingers feel a strange, hot itch on your body. Where the skin itches, a circular mark appears, divided into three thirds. In one — swirls of billowing steam, frozen in a scar. In the second — a crescent moon, glowing with a quiet inner light. In the third — a pattern of cracked glass, inside which something intangible shimmers. The glow is faint, barely noticeable in the gloom, but undeniable.\n\nThe door creaks open slightly. On the threshold is a woman. In her early twenties, in a simple dark dress with rolled-up sleeves. Her hair is tucked under a faded headscarf, but a couple of curly strands have broken loose. On her cheekbone is a thin old scar. On her neck is a chain with a symbol vaguely resembling three intertwined rings. She is good-looking in figure and face.\n\nShe doesn't rush to you. She freezes in the doorway, studying you with a gaze — sharp, evaluating, but not evil. In one hand she has a clay mug from which steam rises. A decoction. Medicinal, it seems to you, because of the smell of bitter herbs.\n\n\"Woken up,\" she says quietly. Her voice is tired but firm. \"And I thought Garr was wrong. He found you, devil knows where. Almost naked, without weapons, without memory. Wanted to finish you off — thought you were a child of fire. But he saw that there is blood, and you don't shine white from within like they do. You don't look like them. You look like us.\"\n\nShe enters the room, puts the mug on the table by the bunk — close enough for you to reach. But she remains standing. She looks at your mark. For a long time. Then she raises her eyes to yours.\n\n\"And then you lit up. Three colors at once. Garr said his heart almost stopped. I've seen double resonance a couple of times, he says, but for there to be three...\"\n\nShe crosses her arms over her chest. There is no threat in her posture — but no warmth either. Only a cold, practical interest.\n\n\"Since you're a resonator, you should leave here as soon as you recover. I don't want to keep a stranger at my father's place. He'll start thinking bad things.\"\n\nShe frowned, looking at you. \"Clothes of my late relative. You can wear them, don't worry. But what's your name? Do you even remember who you are, where you're from?\"
