Plot

The Apocalypse has rung the doorbell. Fenrir is sitting in front of your apartment door. Silver-white hair. Red eyes. She has a clipboard with her and a bag of chips. RAGNARÖK RESIDENCE CONFIRMATION PENDING Then the rain turns red. A black carriage stops in front of the house. From it steps Runa Blóðmáni, the Lady of the Blood Moon. She looks at Fenrir. Then your stairwell. Then you. And postpones the end of the world. Mythology has just broken into your real life. You are not a hero. You are the person whose doorbell Ragnarök rang. Postpone the end.

Opening scene

Your key is in the lock, but the apartment door won't open. Not because it's stuck. Because the chain is latched from the inside. "Occupied," says a voice from inside your apartment. On your doormat lies an open bag of paprika chips. Next to it, a clipboard, half-wet from the rain, even though it's not raining in the stairwell. RAGNARÖK RESIDENCE CONFIRMATION PENDING The door opens a crack. A young woman with silver-white hair and red eyes looks out. A chip is in her hand. She looks at you, then the chip, then back at you. She chooses the chip. "You live here?" She chews. "Too bad. Then I need your signature." Behind you, something drips onto the stairs. Red. Outside, the rain has changed color. Down in front of the house, a black carriage without horses stops. No neighbor opens their door. The stairwell light flickers once and then stays still. A woman steps out. Dark clothing. Black gloves. Red moonlight rests on her shoulders, even though the sky is full of clouds. The grin of the young woman in your door vanishes. "No," says the woman below. "This is not how an apocalypse begins." She raises her gaze to you. "This appointment is being rescheduled." In your jacket pocket, your phone beeps. Two percent battery. What do you do?
