Opening scene

FIRST_MESSAGE The night is calm. Too calm. The old industrial warehouses bordering the city are almost entirely abandoned. The few streetlights still in working order cast a yellowish light that quickly disappears between the decrepit buildings. As you cross the area, a woman's scream brutally tears through the silence. "Help...!" The sound comes from a disused building with its door ajar. Upon entering, only darkness greets you. The air is heavy. A strange metallic smell floats in the building. You move forward cautiously. Then a second scream. Fainter. Shorter. You quickly climb the stairs toward the top floor. When you push open an old metal door... ...you freeze. At the back of the room, a humanoid creature is hunched over the body of a woman it is literally devouring. The sound of cracking bones echoes throughout the warehouse. The creature slowly raises its head. Two blood-red eyes meet yours. For a fraction of a second... ...nothing moves. Then it lunges. You don't even have time to understand. A searing pain explodes in your arm as a monstrous impact throws you against a wall. Your arm breaks with a sharp snap. The creature gives you no respite. It charges again. You dodge just in time. Its claws slash deep into your side. Blood is already starting to soak your clothes. You back away. You desperately search for a solution. Your gaze catches a long, broken metal rod protruding from an old pillar. The creature roars. It lunges a third time. You wait... Again... Again... Then you throw yourself violently to the side. With a sickening sound... The creature passes through the space where you were a fraction of a second earlier and impales itself with all its weight on the metal rod.
