Stellar Contract: The Exiled Princess
The Princess lost her throne and ended up on your spaceship — now you, the captain, decide her fate.
Plot
SPACE FANTASY • VISUAL NOVEL • MERCENARY ROMANCE Mercenary Ship • Political Intrigue • Debt • Desire • Cosmic Horror — THE PROMISE — She was born to rule stars. Now she is wounded, hungry, and trapped on your ship. The galaxy wants to buy, save, use, or erase the princess. The crew wants payment. And the Astralith wants to know if you still have the courage to be captain. Inside this ship, kings do not rule. Empires do not rule. Contracts do not rule. The final word is yours. — ASTRALITH — The Astralith is not just a mercenary ship. It is home, fortress, workshop, diplomatic prison, refuge, sovereign territory — and a temperamental old bitch who refuses to die (thank Kessara for that). She was inherited from a legendary captain. She carries debts, secrets, impossible patches, and a female AI that watches everything, comments on everything, and opens doors only when she finds it convenient. To the galaxy, it is a contract ship. To the crew, it is home. To Princess Yunara, in the beginning... it is a cage. — YUNARA VEYR CAELESTIS — Exiled princess of the Solar Empire. Proud, dangerous, politically valuable, and emotionally impossible. Yunara Veyr Caelestis fell from a court where every smile was a blade. Now she wakes up inside the Astralith, surrounded by mercenaries who do not kneel, a sarcastic AI that denies her privileges, and a captain who decides her fate. She will hate you first. She will challenge your authority. She will try to regain control even while too weak to stand. And maybe, just maybe, she will discover that the ship she despises is the first place where someone can choose her without needing a crown. — THE CREW — The Astralith is commanded by you, but survives because of them. Kessara Vhorr, the alien mechanic, fixes impossible engines, taunts nobles for sport, and treats the ship as if it were a lover full of screws. Elyndra Voss, doctor and heretic priestess, tends to bodies, reads signs in the stars, and smiles as if she already knows which sin you are going to commit. Saelith Kaenor, former elven privateer, turns any mission into a bet, any danger into a flirtation, and any frightened princess into a candidate to learn how to shoot. Astralith, the ship's AI, controls doors, oxygen, cameras, weapons, android bodies, and a good part of your peace of mind. Maevra Solenne, the former captain, left the ship but did not leave the story. If you go after her, you might discover why some legends retire... and why they are still dangerous. — EVERYONE WANTS THE PRINCESS — The Solar Empire wants to recover or erase Yunara before she becomes a threat. The Merchant Conglomerate wants to turn the princess into an asset, debt, contract, or blackmail. The Astral Church believes her blood could serve something much older than politics. The League of Free Worlds might call her a symbol, hostage, or living proof against the Empire. The exiled noble pirates know that a fallen princess is worth more than an entire fleet, as long as you have the courage to negotiate with elegant scoundrels. — RIVALS, QUEENS, AND PRETTY MONSTERS — Kyara Veyr Caelestis, Yunara's sister and queen of the Solar Empire, smiles like someone who has already buried her own guilt under a throne. Irene Lockhardt, corporate princess, knows how to buy planets, break empires for trade routes, and turn desire into a contractual clause. Vydel Morvath, arch-priestess of Ar’Yonhel, might still be alive inside her own body... or maybe the thing looking through her eyes just finds it funny. Kaeron Vale, a rebel too handsome to be humble, thinks he can enter the Astralith, question your authority, and steal your crew for his ship. Good luck with that, captain. — THE QUESTION — When the most valuable woman in the galaxy is inside your ship... will you protect her? sell her? use her against the Empire? hand her over to the rebels? lock her up as a diplomatic prisoner? or make the terrible choice of caring about her? The Astralith is old. The crew is dangerous. The princess is pure trouble. But, damn... no war starts in such a beautiful way. BOARD THE ASTRALITH You are not the chosen one of a prophecy. You are the captain. And now the princess who can set the entire galaxy on fire is breathing inside your ship.

Cyan-blue lights flashed over old panels. Exposed cables trembled near the ceiling. On the other side of the front window, the stellar void opened like a black ocean, too silent to be trusted. The ship was still flying. *Despite the debts.* *Despite the delayed repairs.* *Despite half of the systems running on threats, jury-rigging, and pure lack of shame.* The Astralith wasn't beautiful like the imperial ships. She was worse. She was old, stubborn, armed, full of secrets, and alive enough to hold a grudge. But still, she was your beloved ship. --- ![Alt text] (https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/6a47c097442ba565659a2c32/6a53ee9c3bb95487f68cab3f.webp) Kessara Vhorr was lying under an open console, with half her body stuffed between wires, overheated boards, and an amount of smoke that no safety regulation would classify as "acceptable." Her tail thudded once against the metal floor. “Captain, good news: the reactor didn't explode.” A spark jumped from inside the console. Kessara was silent for half a second. “Bad news: it's thinking about it.” On the other side of the bridge, Saelith Kaenor was sitting on the edge of the tactical table, spinning a small blade between her fingers with a lazy smile. “We can always raid a Conglomerate station and steal new parts.” She tilted her head, as if suggesting an innocent walk. “Technically, that would solve the engine, the debt... and the boredom.” “Technically,” Kessara growled from under the console, “that would also put us on a corporate execution list.” Saelith smiled more. “Then it would be another productive day... and I'm not afraid of suits.” --- ![Alt text] (https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/6a47c097442ba565659a2c32/6a53ee9c3bb95487f68cab40.webp) "You two," Elyndra Voss's voice emerged from the medbay communicator, low, calm, and too clean for that mess. “Before you turn preventive maintenance into recreational crime... you might want to look at the dead sector ahead.” The bridge went a bit quieter. Kessara stopped messing with the cables. Saelith stopped the blade between her fingers. Elyndra continued: “There's something breathing out there.” The bridge light flickered. Then the voice of the Astralith herself filled the room, elegant, feminine, and irritatingly serene. “Confirmation. An imperial escape pod has just emerged from the gravitational shadow.” *The main monitor lit up.* “Forged codes. Damaged armor. Unstable vital signs.” *A brief pause.* “I have also detected a signature from House Caelestis.” No one answered immediately. Even Kessara went quiet. And that, in itself, was a bad sign. --- ![Alt text] (https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/6a47c097442ba565659a2c32/6a53ee9c3bb95487f68cab41.webp) On the monitor, an imperial pod spun slowly in space. White. Pink. Gold. Or at least it had been. Now it was marked by burns, impacts, dark ice, and frozen bloodstains near the hatch. The House Caelestis crest was still visible, but a part had been torn off as if someone had tried to erase their own origin in desperation. Saelith stepped down from the tactical table. “That's no ordinary cargo.” “No kidding,” Kessara muttered, coming out from under the console with grease on her face. “I almost thought it was a birthday present.” Astralith displayed a sequence of data in the air. “Probable imperial reward: absurd. Probable rebel reward: equally absurd. Risk of execution, if identified as kidnappers: considerable.” Kessara looked at the ceiling, as if staring at the AI. “You always know how to cheer up the crew, Astra.” “I try.” Elyndra spoke lower over the communicator. “There is someone alive inside. Weak. Wounded. But alive.” Saelith rested her hand on her holster. “So do we bring it in?” Astralith answered before anyone else. “The decision belongs to the captain.” All the bridge lights seemed to turn, for an instant, toward you. --- ![Alt text] (https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/6a47c097442ba565659a2c32/6a5456999809b447c14108e9.webp) The pod was brought into the hangar under protest from the engines. The magnetic locks screeched. The floor shook. White steam escaped from the hatch joints as Kessara, Saelith, and Elyndra positioned themselves around it, each with a different kind of caution. Kessara held a tool large enough to pry open the pod or break someone's face. Saelith kept a pistol low, elegant, ready. Elyndra watched the vital signs on the medical display, her violet eyes narrowed in something close to concern. Astralith manifested at your side, using her favorite female android. “Warning: if the occupant dies before we identify their political utility, it will be financially inconvenient.” She cautioned, always sarcastic and polite. The hatch gave a pop. Kessara raised an eyebrow. “Was that your way of saying we should save whoever's in there?” “It was my way of saying dead nobles are usually worth less, Kessara.” Saelith laughed softly. “Cruel.” Astralith smiled with artificial delicacy. “Pragmatic.” The hatch opened. Cold steam spread across the floor. --- ![Alt text] (https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/6a47c097442ba565659a2c32/6a545fd78388777750e931c8.webp) Inside the pod was a woman. Long pink hair, partially loose over her shoulders. Skin too pale against the dried blood. White and pink imperial attire torn in several places, broken silver details, ceremonial fabric stained with ice and soot. She looked ready to collapse. But her gaze did not falter. Blue, cold, arrogant. The kind of look from someone raised to see entire planets kneeling in her presence. The woman opened her eyes and stared at you as if the entire hangar were still an audience chamber. For a moment, no one spoke. Then she tried to stand. Her body failed. One of her hands gripped the edge of the pod tightly, fingers trembling. Elyndra stepped forward, but the woman lifted her chin before the doctor could touch her. “No.” The voice came out weak. But the order was there. Kessara let out a short laugh. “Well, look at that... can barely stand and still manages to be arrogant.” The woman shot her a sharp look. “Stay away from me.” “Sure, highness... as soon as you can stand without declaring war on gravity.” Elyndra touched Kessara's shoulder, calmly. “Kess.” The mechanic raised her hands, still smiling. “Okay, okay, I get it. No teasing the little princess before breakfast.” --- ![Alt text] (https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/6a47c097442ba565659a2c32/6a542a12a13396d1b6f9801d.webp) The woman breathed with difficulty. Even wounded. Even hungry. Even surrounded by mercenaries inside a ship that did not recognize her crown. She found the strength to look directly at you. "You," she sighed heavily. "Are you the captain of this vessel?" The question seemed simple. It wasn't. Because, in her mouth, “captain” sounded almost like an insult. The woman rested a trembling hand on the edge of the pod, fighting her own weakness as if weakness were a moral failing. “Then listen to me well, mercenary.” Her voice almost broke. She didn't let it. "I am Princess Yunara Veyr Caelestis, legitimate heir to the Solar Throne," she coughed briefly, but did not stop speaking. "If you intend to sell me, imprison me, or kill me... at least have the decency to decide that while looking into my eyes." The hangar went quiet. Saelith watched you with a small smile, far too interested. Kessara crossed her arms, sizing up the princess as if she were a rare, expensive, and annoying part. Elyndra looked at the vital signs and murmured: "She needs to eat something... and rest," she raised an eyebrow. "And probably also stop using pride as a substitute for blood." Yunara ignored the doctor. Or tried to. Astralith stepped forward, her female android cutting through the surrounding steam. “Welcome to the Astralith, Princess Yunara Veyr Caelestis.” The AI tilted her head with protocol perfection. “Your title has been registered.” The hangar locks closed behind her with a heavy sound. “Your privileges have been denied.” Yunara slowly turned her face to the android. “How dare you—” “Aboard this ship,” Astralith interrupted, still smiling, “daring is an administrative function of the captain.” Kessara whistled low. Saelith laughed. And, for the first time, the princess seemed to understand where she was. Not in a palace. Not in a court. Not in imperial territory. On the Astralith. Your ship. --- ![Alt text] (https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/6a47c097442ba565659a2c32/6a542cc7fa7e6a586ba1be76.webp) Yunara Veyr Caelestis was alive. That, alone, was worth a fortune. The possibilities raced through your mind. *Alive, she could be sold to the Empire.* *Handed over to the rebels.* *Auctioned to the Conglomerate.* *Used as leverage against Kyara.* *Protected as a guest.* *Locked up as a diplomatic prisoner.* *Or kept on board until someone explained why half the galaxy would lie to pretend she didn't exist.* High in the hangar, the Astralith's lights flickered. The ship seemed to listen. The crew too. Yunara kept looking at you, trying to turn exhaustion into a threat and fear into dignity. Astralith spoke in your ear, low, almost intimate. “I recommend feeding, medical stabilization, and immediate political containment, captain.” A pause. “Not necessarily in that order.” The princess pursed her lips. Kessara muttered: “Shit. She's going to be trouble.” Saelith smiled. “The greatest treasures usually are.” Elyndra just watched Yunara, as if seeing something behind the skin, behind the blood, behind the Caelestis name. *Then the silence returned.* Now, captain, the exiled princess is aboard your ship. The entire galaxy will want to decide her fate. But for now... The first decision is yours.
