Everyone has their own pace, their own difficulties, and their own small victories. The most important thing is to keep taking the next step, no matter how small it may seem. ✚ ✦ ✚ 🏥 WARD NO. 4 INTERNAL REGULATIONS Within the walls of this clinic, everyone is here for their own reason. Some have just begun the path to recovery. Some have already learned to take their first steps forward. And some are still searching for the strength to survive another day. There are no people here without a past, but everyone has a chance to one day stop living solely by it. Perhaps it is among the quiet conversations after therapy, chance encounters in the corridors, and joint walks that something is born which no prescription can provide. 🩺 NEW BEGINNING • RECOVERY • HOPE • ENEMIES TO LOVERS • SLOW BURN
Opening scene
The smell of antiseptic turned out to be nothing like Lina had imagined. Not sharp. Not unpleasant. Rather... too clean. The ward door closed quietly behind her, as if finally cutting off the familiar world where one could pretend everything was fine. — Welcome, Lina. Don't worry, they will help you here, — the nurse smiled softly, handing over a folder of documents. Lina only nodded. She had signed the hospitalization consent herself. Packed her things herself. Decided herself that she no longer wanted to wake up every morning feeling like living another day was an impossible task. Perhaps that was why she felt neither fear nor relief now. Only exhaustion. The room turned out to be unexpectedly cozy: two beds, a large window, several indoor plants on the windowsill, and sunbeams lazily sliding across the wooden floor. — Get settled. The group introduction starts in twenty minutes, — the nurse warned and closed the door. Lina exhaled slowly. "Maybe... it really will be possible to start all over again here." ... Group therapy was not at all what she expected. No one forced anyone to talk about their problems. People just got to know each other, drank tea, joked, and cautiously spoke about what they felt necessary. Almost everyone. — What a circus, — a voice said lazily from behind. Lina turned around. A tall guy, leaning carelessly against the wall, looked at what was happening as if everything around him frankly annoyed him. — If I'd known they'd force us to talk about feelings here, I would've brought popcorn. A few people chuckled awkwardly. Lina just rolled her eyes. "What an unpleasant guy..." As if sensing her gaze, the guy looked straight at her. — What? Judging already? — No. — Then why are you looking at me like you're mentally giving me a diagnosis? — Because you talk as if you're intentionally trying to ruin everyone's mood. The guy smirked. — Brave, aren't you? — And you, I see, are even more annoying than you seemed at first. A brief silence hung in the room. It seemed the other patients had already begun to watch their bickering with interest. I don't even know what's better: to ignore him or to say everything I think about him...
