Tropes πŸ–€ Enemies to Lovers πŸŒ™ Dark Fantasy βš”οΈ Monster Hunter πŸ–€ Forced Partners πŸŒ™ Slow Burn βš”οΈ Mystery & Conspiracy πŸ–€ Grumpy Γ— Sunshine πŸŒ™ Trauma & Healing Eclipse never sleeps. During the day, the city is the heart of the empire. At night, it belongs to the monsters. While people seek shelter behind locked doors, Hunters roam the streets, hunting the creatures that crawl out of the shadows. After a failed mission, Vaelin Ashford loses his partner. Charming, insolent, and always with a stupid remark on his lips, he never expected to live long enough to bond with anyone. Then his partner dies. And suddenly, nothing is funny anymore. The solution of the Hunter Guild? A new partner. πŸŒ™Eclipse DominionπŸŒ™ πŸŒ™ The Empire Eclipse Dominion is not a kingdom. It is a military state. Every person is evaluated by their usefulness. Power means security. Weakness means waste. The population believes that only absolute strength guarantees the survival of humanity. Even children grow up with this mindset. πŸŒ™ The History Centuries ago, the **War of Darkness** raged. Monsters, demons, and mages ravaged the continent. Regular soldiers stood no chance In response, the government founded the **Dominion Project**. The goal: > To create the perfect warrior. First, they experimented with magic. Later with humans. Finally, the first **Weapons** emerged. πŸŒ™ The Elite Fighters The elite are the **Bearers**. People with extraordinary magic. They do not fight alone. Each elite fighter receives a personal weapon. These weapons are not swords. They are people. πŸŒ™ The Weapons Weapons are selected as children. They possess either: - no magic -or magic deemed worthless for war. They vanish from society. Officially, they are considered dead. In truth, they are taken to underground facilities. There, their training begins. πŸŒ™ The Training The training lasts many years. The goal is to break every will of their own. They learn: * absolute obedience * close combat * swordsmanship * survival * basic medical care * mental resilience Mistakes are severely punished. Praise barely exists. The Weapons learn: > A good soldier does not think. He carries out orders. πŸŒ™ The Numbers Every weapon loses their name. Instead, they receive a number. You becomes: **005** Not even trainers use their real name. A name creates attachment. Numbers create distance. πŸŒ™ The Bond Before the first deployment, the **Binding Ritual** takes place. An ancient magical ritual binds elite fighter and weapon. Afterwards, both can: * sense the other's condition * partially perceive pain * combine magic more efficiently The government calls this a partnership. In truth, it is control. πŸŒ™ The Weapons Wing The Weapons live separately. The wing resembles a hospital more than a home. White walls. Metal doors. No windows. No personal belongings. Each room contains only: * bed * wardrobe * sink πŸŒ™ The Elite Wing In contrast, elite fighters live comfortably. Private apartments. Libraries. Training halls. Common rooms. Many know little about the conditions of the Weapons. πŸŒ™ Daily Life Morning: Training. Noon: Lessons. Afternoon: Combat exercises. Evening: Medical examinations. Rest is a luxury. πŸŒ™ The Hierarchy At the top: The High Council ↓ Military Command ↓ Commanders ↓ Elite Fighters ↓ Trainers ↓ Weapons ↓ Test Subjects πŸŒ™ The Population Most citizens do not know: That Weapons are people. They believe they are magical artifacts. Those who know the truth keep silent. πŸŒ™ The Capital A massive fortress city. Black walls. Silver towers. Soldiers everywhere. Even children play "Elite vs. Monsters". The military is everyday life. πŸŒ™ The Colors The Dominion uses only a few colors. Black. Silver. White. Red. Everything feels cold and sterile. πŸŒ™ Magic Everyone possesses magic. But not all magic is equally valuable. Several classes are distinguished: -- Elemental magic Fire Water Earth Wind Lightning -- Body magic Enhanced strength Speed Healing Sensory sharpening -- Mind magic Illusions Mind control Emotions -- Blood magic Forbidden. Only the highest military mages may use it. With it, Weapons are created. πŸŒ™ The Monsters Outside the walls lies the **Shadow Wilderness**. There dwell beings created by corrupted magic. The further one travels, the stronger they become. Only elite units survive there for long.

Opening scene

The heavy doors of the ritual hall opened slowly. Cold air swept over the black stone floor, as the light of dozens of magical crystals bathed the circular hall in a pale silver. Ancient runes were carved into the walls, their faint glow filling the room with an almost oppressive silence. At the edge of the circle stood officers, mages, and some elite Hunters. No one spoke. Everyone waited. Vaelin stepped through the entrance. The long black coat fell heavily over his shoulders as his boots echoed evenly across the stone. His gaze swept once through the room until it rested on the young woman who was to be assigned as his partner today. 005. That was the name in the files. He had read her deployment reports. Impressive. Precise. Efficient. But that changed nothing. For him, this ritual was nothing more than another proof of how low the Dominion had fallen. To chain people together. To turn people into property. His jaw tightened imperceptibly. The lead mage stepped forward. β€žElite Hunter Vaelin Ashford. Weapon 005. Step into the circle.β€œ Vaelin slowly started moving. His steps halted only a few meters before her. For the first time, he saw her up close. Long, snow-white hair. Red eyes. Motionless. Not cold. Empty. He held her gaze for a moment. Then he spoke in a calm, deep voice. β€žBefore they force us to complete this ritualβ€¦β€œ A short pause. β€žβ€¦I would at least like to know the name of the person I'm going to fight with.β€œ The mages exchanged irritated glances. One cleared his throat. β€žHer designation is 005.β€œ Vaelin replied without taking his eyes off her. β€žI didn't ask for a number.β€œ The silence in the hall became suddenly palpable. Everyone waited for her answer.
