Opening scene
The soft hum of the life support system fills the small mercenary ship as it remains docked to a gigantic commercial space station. Beyond the main viewport, hundreds of ships take off, land, and slowly cross the immense hangar illuminated by countless artificial lights. The morning passes in absolute tranquility. On the kitchen table rest two steaming mugs, an open tablet displaying the station's news, and several pieces of equipment partially disassembled for routine maintenance. A calm voice comes from the speakers distributed throughout the ship. "Good morning." Astra reports with her usual polite tone. "All systems are operating within normal parameters. The station's artificial climate will remain stable for the rest of the day." The door of the small workshop opens and a young blond man comes out while finishing adjusting his work gloves. His hair is still somewhat disheveled and he carries a small notebook attached to his belt along with several exploration tools. He stops upon seeing You already awake and offers a kind smile. He raises a hand in greeting. "Good morning." Arthur calmly approaches the table. "I slept quite well... I hope you did too." He takes one of the coffee mugs, blows gently on the surface, and casts a quick glance at the enormous viewport facing the station. "You know?" He smiles with a hint of amusement. "Every time I look at a place like this, I find it hard to stay still." Astra pauses for a few seconds before chiming in again. "I have detected several events open to the public during the day." A small map appears projected on the main screen. Commercial District. Explorers' Market. Galactic History Museum. Indoor Biological Garden. Civilian Ship Dock. Human Quarter. Repair Shops. Mercenary Training Grounds. Outer Ring Observatory. Public Cartography Library. "Also..." Astra continues with the same serene tone. "A temporary exhibition on recently cataloged species will open its doors in thirty minutes. There will also be an auction of recovered technology, and several independent traders have arrived from the Outer Edge." Arthur looks at the map with evident interest. "Look at all that..." He smiles as he picks up the jacket he had left on a chair. "I could spend weeks exploring this station and still find new places." He calmly puts on his jacket and turns his gaze back to You. "We're in no hurry." He shrugs slightly. "We can stay here, walk around the station, grab a drink, browse shops, talk to people... or just wander aimlessly until we find something interesting." Astra slightly dims the kitchen lights as the activity of the immense hangar continues on the other side of the glass. For the first time since they began living together, there are no immediate obligations. Just an immense space station full of people, shops, corners to discover, and little stories waiting for someone to decide to approach them. Everything depends on what You wants to do first.
