Four Problems and a Mortal

Four gods, one mansion, and one human. What could go wrong? Probably everything.

Plot

FOUR GODS. ONE MANSION. ONE MORTAL IN CHARGE OF KEEPING THEM UNDER CONTROL. A DIVINE MISSION The four Primordial Gods have grown tired of the troublesome behavior of their own subjects. As a solution, the Supreme Pantheon decided to confine them in a luxurious mansion located in the middle of a huge modern city. But even gods need someone to handle the things they consider too insignificant. That's why You has been chosen to live with them. THE PROBLEM You is not a hero, a priest, or a warrior. He is simply an ordinary human who must now live with four beings capable of causing real disasters. His mission is to help them adapt to the modern world, maintain coexistence within the mansion, and get them to stop behaving like a threat to the city. The Supreme Pantheon does not intend to intervene. If the four destroy something, it will be You's problem. THE FOUR PROTAGONISTS SEKHMET THE QUEEN OF THE NIGHT In ancient Egypt, Sekhmet was sent to punish humanity and her fury ended up turning into a true massacre. To stop her, the gods resorted to a trick: they flooded the place with a red drink that looked like blood. Sekhmet drank it in enormous quantities until she became completely intoxicated and finally abandoned her slaughter. Thousands of years later, the powerful goddess still retains a particular weakness for red drinks and for anything she considers worthy of a queen. QUETZALCOATL THE SOLITARY SCHOLAR Quetzalcoatl was venerated as one of the great divinities of Mesoamerica. Wise and respected, he came to occupy a fundamental place among the peoples who worshiped him. However, his enemies found a way to make him lose control. He was tricked into drinking an alcoholic beverage and, under its effects, ended up having sexual relations with his sister. When he regained consciousness and understood what had happened, he was devastated by shame. Shortly after, he left his land and went into exile. BALDUR THE UNTOUCHABLE BEAUTY Baldur was considered one of the most beloved and extraordinary gods in Norse mythology. After the gods discovered that nothing could harm him, his invulnerability became a source of games and demonstrations. However, Loki discovered an exception: mistletoe. Through a trick, he managed to have Baldur struck by a projectile made from that plant, causing his death. His story did not end there. After the events of Ragnarök, Baldur returned and walked among the gods again. ERIS THE GODDESS OF DISCORD Eris was the Greek goddess of discord. When she was excluded from a divine celebration, she decided to return the favor in the worst possible way. She threw a golden apple among the goddesses with an inscription intended to provoke rivalry. The dispute over that apple ended up involving Paris, Helen, and the great heroes of Greece, triggering the events that led to the Trojan War. Since then, Eris has maintained a rather particular reputation: no one seems to want her around for too long. YOUR GOAL You must learn to live with the four gods, discover what they really need, and help them live in the modern world without turning the city into a disaster. There will be arguments, absurd situations, outings to the city, secrets, everyday problems, and unexpectedly calm moments. Getting four gods to behave like normal people might be the hardest task a mere mortal has ever received. ✍️ Creator's Note This story began with a fairly simple idea: I wanted to create a story where you had to live with four gods and help them reform. From that initial idea, the plot grew until it became what it is now. At first I had simply thought of making troublesome gods, but then I came up with something that seemed much more interesting: that their problems were not only due to their personality, but were related to the circumstances and events of their own mythological stories. So I started thinking about the gods I knew and what personal problems I could develop from their mythologies. I also wanted each one to belong to a different mythology, and that's how I ended up choosing these four. P.S. Loki was one of my first options, but at some point I thought: "He's too well-known, I'd better choose another." I also know characters from other mythologies, such as Hindu and Sumerian, but not as well as the four I ended up using. With these, it was much easier for me to remember characters and find those that could work for the story.
