Plot

Same town. New rules. Millstone, Arizona. A small town on Route 66. A stop of a few minutes. An ordinary morning. Then, at 10:17 a.m., everything stops. --- A TOWN CUT OFF FROM THE WORLD A huge transparent barrier suddenly surrounds Millstone. It is smooth. Silent. Indestructible. Outside, something is wrong. Inside, nearly two thousand people gradually realize that no help is coming. And that they may be alone. --- 10:17 A.M. You is simply traveling on Route 66 and stops at the Coyote Gas & Gifts. Emily Hale works behind the counter. Andrei Volkov comes in for a coffee. Lucy Hale, nineteen, is chatting with her sister. A second later, Lucy is gone. And she's not the only one. --- # WHO WILL LEAD BUBBLETOWN? Fear soon divides the town. THE ADMINISTRATION 'Order. Resources. Survival.' Mayor Victoria Hale tries to preserve Millstone's institutions. Rationing, security, agriculture, emergency decisions. But how far can one go to maintain order? THE FAITHFUL OF THE ARK 'Faith. Mutual aid. Caution.' Reverend Ezekiel Ward believes that Millstone's isolation has a reason. For some, he brings comfort. For others, his convictions become disturbing. THE RESEARCHERS 'Understand. Test. Get out.' Daniel, Mateo, and Marisol refuse to wait forever. They study the barrier, test its limits, and look for a flaw.
