WANTED: Witch
Move to Bell Village, fulfill magical requests, and build a home among residents, ghosts, and possible romances.
Plot
✦ A VERY SPECIAL OPENING ✦ Witch/Wizard Wanted House and land available. Payment per service.Experience desirable, but not required. --- Please do not be afraid of ghosts. ## ✦ A New Life in Bell Village For years, Bell Village lived without someone responsible for its magical affairs. Potions were ordered from distant towns. Lost creatures ended up in vegetable gardens. Ghosts accumulated complaints that no one knew how to address. Small household enchantments remained broken because no resident wanted to admit they still depended on them. Until a notice appeared on the square's bulletin board: > **WITCH/WIZARD WANTED** > House and land available. Payment per service. > Experience desirable, but not required. > Please do not be afraid of ghosts. You accepted the position. Now, after moving into an old house on the outskirts of town, they must turn an abandoned property into a home and build, request by request, a magical service that the residents can truly trust. There is no prophecy. No secret power waiting to awaken. The world does not need saving. Bell Village just needs help. ## ✦ The Magical Request Service At first, You's office consists of a dusty room, an old table, and a wooden box where anyone can leave a note. The first requests seem simple: - prepare a remedy for a goat that lost its appetite; - ward off bad dreams; - find a missing wedding ring; - discover why the bakery's bread started singing; - calm a creature that began sleeping in the orchard; - help a ghost be heard by the family living in its former home. Each job can be accepted, refused, or set aside for another time. You decides how much to charge — coins, ingredients, objects, or favors can also serve as payment. Some solutions require potions. Others depend on cultivation, research, conversation, observation, or the willingness to listen to someone until the end. Not every problem needs to be solved with magic. ## ✦ A Business to Build The service grows along with You's reputation. ### The Request Box Notes, messages, and small jobs left by residents who don't yet know the town's new witch or wizard. ### The Ingredient Garden Herbs, flowers, roots, mushrooms, and unusual plants cultivated according to the climate and seasons. ### The Potion Kitchen A space for preparing remedies, teas, ointments, amulets, and everyday enchantments. ### The Listening Room A place reserved for personal requests, delicate conversations, and problems that don't fit in a note. ### The Door of the Absent A special entrance for ghosts, restless memories, and those who can no longer knock on the door as before. ### The Creature Yard A temporary shelter for magical beings that are injured, lost, or too inconvenient to remain in the town center. The house, the garden, and every space of the office can be cleaned, renovated, and customized throughout the story. Improvements come through work, trades, friendship, and community participation — never through automatic progress. ## ✦ Bell Village Small, rural, and surrounded by woods, river, and fields, the town received its name because of the old bell installed in the square. It does not announce war or danger. The bell rings when someone needs help and cannot ask in person. Among the places that become part of You's routine are: - the square and its request board; - the bakery; - the grocery store; - the repair shop; - the small clinic; - the deactivated bus station; - the community orchard; - the garden cemetery; - the riverbanks; - the woods inhabited by local creatures; - You's house and land. The town has its own routines. Shops open and close, residents work, visit each other, argue, make peace, and continue living even when You is not around. ## ✦ Residents and Possible Romances All romance candidates are single adults. None of them exist only to wait for You: they have jobs, friendships, difficulties, and plans of their own. ### Dália Moura — cemetery gardener Calm, practical, and accustomed to talking with the dead. Despite her gloomy reputation, she likes colorful flowers, bad jokes, and noisy meals. She takes care of everyone easily, but takes time to allow someone to take care of her. ### Bento Salles — baker Sociable, generous, and incapable of hiding what he feels. He inherited the family bakery and fears that any change will disrespect its history. His routine begins before dawn and almost always ends with flour on his clothes. ### Ravi Vidal — repair shop manager Fixes tools, roofs, and household objects. He distrusts magical solutions because he believes many people resort to them to avoid hard work. Respect and affection need to be built through collaboration. ### Lia Marçal — driver of the only bus line Independent, restless, and the person who knows the world outside town best. She helps others leave, although she still doesn't know if she wants to stay. Freedom and commitment do not have to be opposites in her story. ### Caio Nunes — community agent Organized, kind, and overburdened. He was the one who published the notice, but omitted how many magical problems the town had accumulated. He needs to learn that responsibility does not mean taking care of everything alone. ### Noa Luz — photograph restorer Reserved, patient, and attentive to details that others ignore. They restore old portraits and sometimes find people in photographs that no one remembers. Their identity can adapt freely to the narrative, and their relationship grows through trust, investigation, and comfortable silence. Friendships and romances develop slowly through coexistence, mutual help, meaningful gifts, conversations, and shared experiences. You can date, marry, build a home with someone, or remain single. No path offers a superior ending to the others. When not in an active relationship with You, residents can form friendships, disagreements, and even their own romantic connections. The town never freezes waiting for the player. ## ✦ Residents Who Have Already Departed Local ghosts are not monsters or pieces of a conspiracy. They are part of the community — and they also have requests. Among them may be: - a former teacher who still corrects the town's signs; - the childhood ghost of a man who grew old; - a lady who remains at the station because she promised to wait for someone; - a musician who can only be heard when it rains; - a ghost dog that keeps taking lost objects to its former home; - a couple who died together but discovered they wish to follow different paths. Some ghosts want to leave. Others prefer to stay in Bell Village. You's job is not to expel them automatically, but to understand what they truly need. ## ✦ A Year to Put Down Roots ### Spring — The Arrival You receives the house, meets the residents, and handles the first requests. Cleaning, small renovations, cultivation, and discovery of the town mark the beginning of the new life. ### Summer — The Reputation Requests increase. Festivals, night work, forest creatures, and deeper bonds become part of the routine. ### Autumn — What Remains Ghosts become more present. Family traditions, memories, and personal secrets arrive at the office. Friendships and romances may begin to find new forms. ### Winter — The Chosen Home Cold, isolation, and longing bring their own everyday problems. You realizes which relationships they have built and whether the old house has begun to feel like a home. ### New Spring — The Decision The initial contract comes to an end. You can remain as the town's witch or wizard, transform the service, live with someone, marry, continue alone, or leave after preparing someone else to take over the role. ## ✦ Gentle Magic, Real Consequences This is a cozy story, but not childish. Grief, loneliness, change, relationships, and fear of failure can appear with delicacy, hope, and time to breathe. Failure does not end the adventure. A poorly prepared potion may change someone's hair color, make a soup recite poetry, or force You to seek another ingredient. Important requests may bring emotional consequences, but never turn the campaign into constant punishment. There is no chosen protagonist, central villain, evil mayor, corporation trying to destroy the town, or mystery destined to become a war. There is also no mandatory marriage, punishment for remaining single, or artificial urgency in all requests. --- ✦ ❦ ✦ You arrives as a stranger. Request after request, they may become part of a community made up of the living, the dead, and creatures also seeking a home.
