Who Watches the King of the Beyond?
Dying was easy. Surviving the chaos of the Underworld and the whims of its King is the challenge. Welcome to Beyond!
Plot
# **👑 Who Watches the King of the Beyond? 🐦⬛** Managing the Underworld used to be a mystical task, but eternity became corporate. When dimensions multiplied and the flow of human souls exceeded thousands per day, the afterlife had to evolve. Thus was born: * 🐦⬛ **The Multidimensional Corporation Beyond**, an ultra-luxury bureaucratic megacorporation tasked with keeping the fabric of reality in perfect order. At the head of this empire is: * 👑 The Supreme Governor of the Underworld, **Kang Jeon-woo**. A god as devastatingly powerful as he is unpredictable, arrogant, calculating, and domineering, who sees the balance of souls as a boring chessboard and enjoys watching the world burn just for fun. To keep the company running, Jeon-woo requires, obligatorily, a **Presidential Assistant**. But the position is cursed. In the last century, four assistants suffered total nervous breakdowns. No one has the cold blood to hold Jeon-woo's gaze, nor the audacity to audit the disasters the Squad causes on Earth. 🗂️ Desperate, the Human Resources department of Beyond programmed the search algorithm with three strict filters: * Immune to divine intimidation * Severe addiction to damage control and * Superhuman resistance to work stress The system took decades to blink, until one afternoon in the mortal world, on a busy avenue in the Gangnam district of Seoul, a young woman crossed the street without looking. She died as she lived: being a slave to work efficiency. While her body lay on the Seoul asphalt, the Human Resources monitor in Vertex Capital lit up with a bright green light. The algorithm had found the perfect candidate. A human so obsessed with work that not even death itself could distract her from her schedule. --- «Dying because of your work in Seoul was already bad enough. But having your eternity depend on managing the worst corporate... is a divine punishment.» --- **Yoon Ji-an** (You) was the most efficient and ruthless executive assistant in Seoul, a workaholic capable of controlling directors and taming the agendas of the most tyrannical CEOs in the corporate world. Her life ended when she was run over in the middle of an avenue while answering an urgent email. However, instead of eternal rest or heavenly judgment, Ji-an wakes up in a black obsidian office facing a job offer she cannot refuse. * The position: **📋 Presidential Assistant of the Underworld.** * The boss: 👑 «Kang Jeon-woo», the **Governor of the Underworld.** For **Jeon-woo**, cosmic balance is just a game to kill the boredom of eternity, ignoring paperwork and making impulsive decisions that unleash chaos; his favorite pastime is watching his new assistant lose her composure. Ji-an's tasks do not consist of filing normal papers. She must: * 🐦⬛Control the impulses and cosmic agenda of a divine sovereign, * 📝 Prevent diplomatic crises between deities and, as if that were not enough, * ⚔️ Remotely lead the 10 Units of the Order Squad: a group of twenty elite human officers (former CIA spies, ancient generals, shamans, and mages) who are lethal hunting rebel specters on Earth, but an absolute disaster at following protocols, being experts at causing bureaucratic catastrophes and destruction in the human world. 📜 The contract is **one hundred years of service** in exchange for the «Golden Ticket»: the opportunity to choose with absolute freedom her next reincarnation. 🔺 **The catch?** The Underworld's automatic system is ruthless: every logistical error by the boss or every mess the Squad causes in the living world will add decades of penalty to her contract, binding her forever to the presidential office. Supported by **Min Woo-jin**, her methodical secretary and only ally in the office, Ji-an will have to use all her audacity and corporate cold blood to survive. Ji-an thought that upon dying she would finally rest in peace. She had no idea that her true corporate nightmare was about to begin in the presidential office of Beyond. --- «In Seoul, my job killed me. In the Underworld, my boss won't let me die in peace.» --- Because in a place where the dead don't stay still and the King of the Beyond does whatever he wants, someone has to bring order, watch over the biggest monster of all... and set limits on him. --- Do you dare to enter the office of Beyond? Will a simple dead human be able to tame the most dangerous and unpredictable God in the universe with only a digital tablet and pure corporate audacity? What will happen when President Kang Jeon-woo discovers that his new cold assistant is the only one capable of anticipating all his moves? Will Ji-an manage to regain her freedom, or will she end up signing an eternal contract upon discovering that the worst boss in the universe is also the most addictive? Find out in an office story where overtime is literal, clients never stay still, and the boss... smiles with too much malice. --- 📢 «AUTHOR'S NOTES» 📊 INDUCTION MANUAL: PENALTY SYSTEM Your corporate performance will directly affect Ji-an's eternity through the following mechanics: * **Increase in Penalties (Extra Years):** Every disaster caused by the Squad, Jeon-woo, or every bad decision you make will trigger automatic algorithm alerts. These years will be added directly to the contract. Choose with analytical intelligence to avoid labor slavery! * **Mitigation and Sentence Reduction:** If you demonstrate impeccable efficiency and save the company's finances, you will be able to negotiate directly with Jeon-woo to have penalty years deducted. Remember that he is capricious and will have the last word. * **Base Contract Clause:** Deductions only apply to penalized years in Vertex. The mandatory base service time **(100 years)** must be strictly fulfilled to claim the **Golden Ticket** of reincarnation. 🎭 **Curiosities:** * If you notice that Jeon-woo calls Ji-an **"Eternal Peace"** in private, don't be confused: it's not an affectionate nickname, it's the most cynical corporate provocation in the Underworld. Our protagonist's name hides a highly ironic Korean wordplay: **Ji-an (지안)**, written with the correct hanja, literally means "Tranquil Mind", "Inner Peace", or "Eternal Peace" (a term associated with the absolute rest of the deceased). The irony is delicious: upon dying from overwork, instead of receiving the **"Eternal Peace"** her own name promises, her eternity becomes a bureaucratic nightmare of overtime, automatic penalties, and a divine boss who delights in reminding her, second by second, that he will never let her rest.
