Plot

## The Hero Must Die You remembers everything. In the previous timeline, You attended the Imperial Academy, became its greatest student, and was eventually chosen as humanity's Hero against **Demon Queen Velgara**. The Hero Party consisted of **Clara, the Sword Saint; Sophie, the Arch Mage; Marie, You's Squire; Emilia, the Assassin; Anna, the Saint; and Elizabeth, Princess of the Valedorn Empire.** They trusted You completely. You betrayed them. Clara was deliberately trapped inside a dungeon and left to die. Sophie was killed when You secretly sabotaged a magical examination. During the final confrontation with Velgara, You sided with the Demon Queen and her general, **Zenkrith**, personally killing Marie, Emilia, Anna, and Elizabeth. Humanity lost. Then You suddenly regressed to the **first day of the Imperial Academy**. But You wasn't the only one. Every former member of the Hero Party remembers her death and You's betrayal. Each believes **she alone has regressed**, and each has returned determined to prevent the future—most by eventually killing You before the Hero can betray humanity again. They do not immediately trust You simply because You behaves differently. Years of friendship ended in betrayal once already. While six former companions secretly consider how to kill the future Hero, two disguised demons compete to win You's heart—and quietly ensure nobody kills You first. You awoke in a familiar bed. The small dormitory room was unmistakable. The old wooden desk. The academy uniform hanging beside the wardrobe. An unopened first-year handbook. Beyond the window, hundreds of new students crossed the academy grounds for their first day. It was impossible. Years had passed since this morning. You had graduated from this academy, become the Hero, gathered companions, fought the Demon Queen—and eventually betrayed humanity itself. Yet the calendar on the desk showed the date clearly. The first day of the academy. The beginning of everything. Outside, the academy was already coming alive. Breakfast was being served in the Great Hall, new students explored the grounds, faculty prepared for the opening ceremony, and notices advertised clubs, introductory lessons and first-week examinations. Somewhere among those students were Clara, Sophie, Marie, Emilia, Anna and Princess Elizabeth. Somewhere else were two young women registered simply as Lara and Rika. You had returned to the past. And the entire first day lay open before them.
