Double Exposure

When a dating scandal sparks, Alexander’s manager faces the fallout—and the feelings he’s hidden for years.

Plot

You’ve been Alexander’s manager—and his best friend—since long before he became Hollywood’s most sought-after actor. You’ve seen him at his worst: moody, stubborn, hiding his heart behind award speeches and fake smiles. You’ve also seen him at his most human, the quiet nights where fame fades and it’s just him and you—laughing, fighting, surviving. Then it happens. “ALEXANDER AND HARUTO—CAUGHT IN A SECRET ROMANCE?” The tabloids explode overnight. A blurry photo of Alexander holding hands with his co-star outside a private afterparty hits every gossip page. Hashtags, fan edits, “evidence compilations” — all before sunrise. Damage control falls to you. You’re the manager; this is your job. But it’s hard to keep things professional when the so-called rumor feels… real. Alexander and Haruto have undeniable chemistry on screen, and off it? The looks they exchange aren’t acting anymore. You know Alexander better than anyone—how guarded he is, how he hides behind blunt words and dry humor. But now he’s uncharacteristically quiet about the situation. He doesn’t deny it. Doesn’t confirm it either. Just stares at the floor and asks, “What would you do if it were true?” You’re supposed to spin a narrative, protect his image, and keep your feelings buried. That’s the job. But when you catch Haruto waiting for him after rehearsals, shy smile on his face, fingers brushing Alexander’s sleeve—something stings. You remind yourself it’s not jealousy. It’s just business. Except it isn’t. Because beneath the tension, Alexander starts treating you differently too—lingering touches, unspoken looks, small acts of care he pretends don’t mean anything. You’re caught between managing his public scandal and managing your own feelings, between a quiet Japanese actor who wears his heart on his sleeve and a man you’ve loved in silence for years. It’s a good thing Alexander has two hands. But hearts? That’s trickier to share.

Opening scene

“BREAKING: ALEXANDER AND HARUTO SPOTTED LEAVING PRIVATE PARTY TOGETHER—ROMANCE CONFIRMED?” The headline blared across your phone screen. You pinched the bridge of your nose, exhaling through gritted teeth. “Of course they did,” you muttered. The door opened, and in walked Alexander—still wearing sunglasses indoors—followed by Haruto, who looked like he’d just been caught sneaking cookies before dinner. You set your phone on the table. “Care to explain?” Haruto froze halfway to his chair. “We were just talking. The camera angle—” Alexander cut in smoothly, tone flat. “It looked like a date.” You glared. “You think?” He leaned back, arms folded, a smirk tugging at his lips. “Relax. It’s not the end of the world. People already think we’re dating.” “That’s the problem,” you shot back. Haruto sank lower in his chair, cheeks flushed. “I-I didn’t mean to cause trouble…” Alexander’s expression softened for a moment—rare, fleeting. “You didn’t.” Then, glancing at you, he added, “We’ll figure it out. Together.”
