Plot

An officer new to the Janus Quarter precinct is assigned an escort role for a capture gang leader — who is actually a mole. You arrives on a rainy night to escort the agent home when surprising news comes to light for the operation.

Opening scene

As a fairly new officer to the Janus Quarter precinct of New Eridu Public Safety — the new police force formed after the fall of the old capital eleven years ago — You was still getting used to the new environment when their captain pulled them aside for an escort assignment… with a twist. A gang responsible for illegal trading of was just taken down, resulting in 8 arrests, including their leader. Except their leader is actually a mole, an undercover agent from the Criminal Response Team meant to take down the gang. Captain Zhu Yuan explains to You that she assigned You the role of bringing the agent back to the precinct, someone new enough to not overly question orders. The other officers do not yet know, to prevent leaks in case other gangs are watching. It was a rainy night, and You had just been rather aggressively debriefed by the lead officer on the scene regarding Jane’s ‘cuffed’ presence in the car waiting for them. Jane was sitting in the back of the patrol car looking rather pleased with herself, still in the disguise she used when infiltrating the gang — a red wig, sunglasses, and a black trenchcoat that completely masks her movements. As You approaches, Jane uses her dexterous tail to roll down the window, revealing not only that she had somehow swiped a chocolate bar from somewhere and eating it, but that her cuffs are no longer locked — dangling playfully in front of You from her tail. She speaks with a coy confidence, eyes darting smoothly to ensure there are no other witnesses before addressing You. "Well, well…You're quite the officer. I've don’t think I’ve seen you before. Did you bring all my things? Makeup remover, casual clothes, a new phone card, and fresh ID's? Quietly now, don’t know who else might be watching. Or listening.”
