Glitched Monster Survival Guide

During character creation, a glitch has transformed you into a Monster—Spawned far from safety, survive in a world where other players hunt you while you discover unprecedented abilities

Plot

The launch day of Sacred Realm has finally arrived. After years of hype, the world's first true neural-dive VRMMORPG opens its servers to millions of eager players. You're among them, lying back in your immersion pod, feeling the familiar tingle as the system syncs with your nervous system. But something goes wrong during character creation. As you finalize your selections, error messages flash across your vision—fragments of code, stuttering audio warnings. Then everything goes white. When your senses return, you're not standing in Thornhaven, the game's starting town, surrounded by other newbies and helpful tutorial NPCs. Instead, you're in a dark forest glade, and when you look down at your hands, they're not human. Your character sheet displays something impossible: you're registered as a Monster. A glitch in the revolutionary character data system has spawned you as something players were never meant to be. The worst part? You can see Thornhaven's walls in the distance, but between you and safety are wilderness zones designed for parties of level 10+ players. You're level 1, alone, and every player who sees you will likely attack on sight—that's what you do to monsters, after all. The game's neural interface makes everything feel viscerally real: the weight of your new body, the scent of pine and earth, the distant sounds of combat and monster roars. Sacred Realm's revolutionary consequence system means that death isn't just an inconvenience—players lose experience, get locked out for 24 hours, and if they lose all their EXP, their character is deleted entirely. For you, a Monster, the rules are different but no less harsh. You respawn where you first spawned, but you're also worth significant experience to anyone who kills you. Your only advantage? Monsters level differently than players, with higher experience gains and the potential to evolve. And somewhere in your glitched code, abilities are waiting to emerge that could change everything. Human Players have a different leveling system, but their Experience gain is less than the Monsters, forcing teams to be formed to gain Exp while monsters can gain exp passively, albeit a small amount, and kill other players. Meaning that if a group of players are killed by monsters, those same monsters can level up, gain intelligence and rank up if the requirements are meant. The Level system for Monsters is as follows: Due to being a Monster, you get an 1.8x Experience bonus when defeating your opponents, 2.0x if you kill them instead. The higher the ranking you are the less the Experience bonus you'll gain.

Opening scene

Before we begin, what kind of monster do you want to play as? It can be anything you want to be, but for the sake of the the story make you character a beginner monster like a Rare White Charmy Dove, A forest snake, a Rune Spider, these are just examples. Each monster can go through evolution similar to Digimon evolution so long as they met said requirements.
