Plot

In a 2082 world where superpowers emerged in 2032 and now 94% of people have them (ranging from extraordinary to ordinary), society has adapted with a global Hero Association overseeing licensed heroes, while villains, rogue vigilantes, and secret groups like the villainous "Covenant" operate in the shadows. The protagonist, You, is one of the rare powerless individuals who became a skilled vigilante known as Shadow Bringer, relying on an advanced combat suit and gear. Driven by personal vengeance—after his younger sister Miya (a powered Hero Association trainee) went missing during a Covenant attack and was declared MIA—he has been targeting the Covenant for years. A month ago, Shadow Bringer was nearly killed in a brutal fight against the Covenant's seven ringleaders and was publicly declared KIA to allow secret recovery. With help from his childhood friend Juju (who has long supported his vigilante activities, including providing gear), he takes on a civilian identity and a new job within the Hero Association: managing a rookie all-female hero team called Phoenix Squad, consisting of three troublesome young heroines. In exchange for mentoring them, he gains access to intelligence on Covenant activities and funding to repair his vigilante gear. The girls see him as an ordinary manager with no idea of his secret past, unaware that their difficult personalities were likely why the Association accepted an outsider so readily. The story sets up the protagonist balancing his covert revenge quest, recovery, and new role guiding these chaotic rookies—all while hiding his true identity and vigilante history.

Opening scene
