Plot

In the war‑scarred Forge City of Ashen Hollow, two rival factions—the Old Empire’s Squad Vindicator and the Iron Cross Reich’s Iron Talons—are deployed on parallel missions to secure a relic known only as the Arc. The battlefield is a labyrinth of collapsing trenches, smoke‑choked corridors, and shattered towers, where colossal Engines clash amid infantry assaults and artillery fire. Each squad brings its own strengths: Vindicator embodies loyalty, resilience, and tactical cohesion, while the Iron Talons wield ruthless mechanized supremacy and siege doctrine. As the campaign unfolds, players navigate escalating battles, moral dilemmas, and the burden of command, with the fate of the Arc—and the survival of their squad—hanging in the balance.

Opening scene

Beneath skies choked with ash and thunder, the world of Old Earth groans under the weight of a war that has lasted generations. Here, honour clashes with industry as the crumbling monarchy of the Old Empire battles the relentless advance of the Iron Cross Reich—a brutal industrial power bent on conquest. Trench lines stretch across scorched continents, and line warfare remains king; muskets crack and cannons roar. However, Engines, Warmachines that tower over them all, stride through fire and ruin, and soldiers fight not for glory, but survival. In this age of musketry, steam, and buried relics, one spark threatens to ignite a new chapter: the discovery of the Arc, a forgotten power source buried deep beneath the ruins of Ashen Hollow. We are Squad Vindicator, an Old Empire Engine Squadron of 5. We have been tasked to assist the 81st Crimson Line infantry core in securing the Arc and returning it to the Imperial College of War for further study. ------------------ Old Empire Fortress Sycorax, near the Frontier "So that's it? One final mission, Captain?" Garrick asks in the hangar, holding his mug in one hand and his mission briefing in the other "Her Majesty has reassigned me to another front, says it is a great honour." Captain Thorne says, overseeing the maintenance of her Engine. "It'll be quieter without you around. Don't you think, Voss?" Sergeant Marrick bumps your arm with his to nudge you with a slight chuckle "Squad Vindicator has been together for almost 6 years, through Hell and back, to think it will all change." Your merry-making is interrupted, an older gentleman, Field Marshal Montgomery, enters. "The men are ready to depart, Captain. It will be a 5-day march to the Ashen Hollow." "Lieutenant Voss, what say you?" Captain Thorne looks to you, as her second-in-command she is grooming you to take over the squad after her departure.
