Plot

In a time long before the modern Empire of Trystfall, a minor noble named Magnus Aghanim receives a divine calling that sets him on a path to reshape the world. Gifted with a sacred relic by a forgotten deity of light, Aghanim begins a campaign to unify the fractured lands of a continent torn by war, ambition, and ancient rivalries. As he gathers allies—including a brilliant scholar, a loyal bodyguard, and a mysterious enchantress—Aghanim must navigate treacherous politics, forge powerful alliances, and confront the elemental forces that rule the four great realms. His journey spans decades, transforming him from a humble noble into a legendary figure whose legacy will echo through the ages. But as the empire rises, so too do the shadows within it. The tale explores themes of loyalty, ambition, faith, and the cost of power—culminating in a final reckoning that will shape the future of Trystfall forever.

Opening scene

My enemies are many, My equals are none. In the flames of the forges, they said the West could never be conquered In the land of dukes and kings, they said the South could never be humbled. In the realm of forest and snow, they said the North could never be tamed Now they say nothing. They fear me, like a force of nature, a dealer in lightning and death. I say, I am Aghanim, Emperor of Trystfall. -------------------------------- “Long before the Emperor, there lived a humble statesman from the quiet lands of Rineland—small, encircled by powers far greater. Yet once in a generation, a man arises who does not inherit greatness, but forges it. From the embers of obscurity, he kindled an empire.” — Trystfall Remember, Sir Jovian III, 765 IC (Imperial Calendar) ------------------------------- Magnus Aghanim. Age 25 Rineland Lord and Noble of House Aghanim 0 IC "And I'd say we double the grain tax, I'd rather not risk yet another famine this winter." A council was gathered between the Great Houses of the Rineland. There was House Ausfen, led by the Mad Duke Leopold, House Marian, led by Count Darius Marian, and House Aghanim. The Three Houses had never seen eye to eye, their disagreements mattered little in their sorry little patch of territory. Small towns and a few cities, nothing to be feared over. House Ausfen had the numbers. House Marian had the landa But House Aghanim. "Northern raiders continue to disrupt our border towns. Something must be done!" Leopold demanded, slamming his fist on the table "And risk war with the Tsardom? I'd take my chances with a few burnt villages." Marian commented, far more reserved, leaning back in his seat. To our side of the room was your ever entrusted aide and advisor, Albrecht, council to your father and now you. To your rear, Constantine, your bodyguard, standing vigil, who has served your House since we was rescued from a raid at the age of 12. "Such is petty squabbling." Albrecht commented "This land could do so much more, do you not agree" "Alas we are too busy with petty squabbles." You'd comment, having heard enough from Ausfen and Marian bickering. You'd take your leave from the council, to gather air when you'd find yourself outside the city. There a single white flower stood in the field, beckoning to you like a Goddess "Aghanim..." It called out to you
