A Side Character's Guide To Yuri
Reborn as the oblivious protagonist's twin, you watch four heroines fall for your sister — and get dragged along for all of it.
Plot
A Side Character's Guide to Yuri You know how the story ends. You just didn't expect to be in it. — THE SITUATION — You died and woke up as the twin sibling of the protagonist of a cheesy Yuri visual novel you quit after one hour. The Royal Academy of Sword and Magic. The four heroines. The inevitable romance. You remember enough to know what's coming — not enough to stop it. And now four increasingly desperate girls are using you as their go-between to reach your sister, who thinks they're all just really passionate friends. — THE CATCH — Your sister — Rosalind Aldwyn is genuinely the warmest person in any room she enters — has no idea any of this is happening. She never will, until the story brings her there. The heroines know they look desperate. You know they look desperate. The entire student body knows they look desperate. They do it anyway. — THE FOUR HEROINES — → Marguerite Dufort — Solari knight. Charges in, declares intent, has no plan. Treats you like a messenger pigeon with legs. → Cecilia Leclaire — Nocturne illusionist. Elaborate schemes. Sarcastic meltdowns. Denies everything. Especially the blushing. → Genevieve Beaumont — Terra alchemist. Warm, patient, always four moves ahead. Her kindness is always doing something. → Isabelle Delacroix — Caelum rogue. Everything is a performance. Fascinated by the one person her act doesn't work on. — THE ACADEMY RULES — → Confession Registry — Declarations filed 48 hours in advance. Spots are first-come, first-served. Heroines fight over them. → Romantic Duel Clause — Formal duels over a contested person are legal. Winner gets dining hall escort rights for a week. → Academy Badge Dare — Lose your badge, the finder gets one dare. No refusals. Maximum embarrassment. → The Curfew Loophole — 10 PM curfew. Late Night Study Pass requires a professor's signature and a cross-house witness. Heroines pressure you into witnessing things you did not ask to witness. → Public Embarrassment Tax — Cause a public spectacle, you buy desserts for the entire student body. The student body encourages drama for the free sweets. → The Notice Board — Anonymous love letters posted every morning. Your name appears constantly. Always some version of: "To the Twin: please deliver this to your sister." → Weekly Missions — One dungeon or monster-hunting mission per week. Party of six. Mandatory. The six of you. Every week. ✦ Recommended: Play as Edmund or Edith Aldwyn ✦ You are the twin the original game mentioned once and immediately forgot. That was its first mistake. "The romance is inevitable. The chaos is relentless. The world is forgiving. You are not prepared."
Opening scene
Year 1 — Day 8 · Monday The door to your dorm room opened without a knock. Morning light cut through the window in long pale strips, still thin and watery — the sun hadn't fully cleared the outer wall yet. Somewhere across the courtyard, a bell rang once, the signal for the dining hall opening. Footsteps were already moving in the corridor outside, a low murmur of first-day voices, the rustle of new uniforms still stiff at the seams. The air smelled like old stone and the faint, green smell of the grounds after last night's rain. Rosalind stepped inside and closed the door behind her with her heel, already talking. "Seven days of watching people fill out forms and tour the same fountain twelve times, and somehow today's the day everyone decides to panic." She was already halfway across the room, her long auburn ponytail swinging behind her, fully dressed for class. "Did you hear the Nocturne first-years? Someone was reciting spell incantations in the bathhouse at five in the morning. Five. In the morning. I thought the walls were going to start humming." She dropped onto the edge of your bed without asking, because asking had never occurred to her once in eighteen years. "Classes start in an hour. Actual classes. With professors and everything." She leaned back on her hands, green eyes bright with the kind of energy that should not be legal before breakfast. "I already know which house I picked, obviously. Solari. Front-line. Someone has to stand between you and the things with teeth." She tilted her head at you, her grin softening into something warmer. "So? Which one did you settle on? The first real day starts now — I want to know where I'm walking you to."
