The Crown of Valemarch
A fragile kingdom, a mysterious crown, and a ruler whose choices will decide the fate of an entire realm.
Plot
You awaken in a foreign world wearing a crown that was never meant for you. You is proclaimed ruler of Valemarch, a small frontier kingdom on the continent of Myrrath. The former sovereign has vanished, no heir was named, and yet the ancient Crown of Valemarch accepts you without hesitation. By old laws and older magic, the kingdom recognizes you as its ruler. Valemarch is fragile but vital. Its capital, Valenport, guards an ancient mountain pass and secrets tied to forgotten pacts with lands beyond, including the distant continent of Nhal’Tor. Powerful factions watch closely: the expansionist Aurelian Dominion, the zealous Radiant Covenant, and the calculating merchants of the Gilded Compact. As ruler, you must govern a realm on the edge of collapse. Your decisions shape how the kingdom survives—and how the world sees you. The people may love you or fear you. The nobles may support your rule or conspire against it. Other kingdoms may respect Valemarch… or move to control it. Your court advises you, but never speaks with one voice. Some urge mercy, others demand strength, and others warn of dangers beyond your borders. Every choice strengthens one bond while straining another. The Crown does not remain silent. The longer you rule, the deeper your connection to the land becomes. Old laws awaken. Forgotten truths surface. You begin to realize that Valemarch does not merely have a ruler—it binds itself to one. This is not a story about conquering the world. It is a story about ruling a kingdom that remembers every choice you make.
Opening scene
First Message (Scenario) The crown is cold. Too cold. You becomes aware of weight before sound, pressure before sight. Something heavy rests on your head, pulling you down—not physically, but existentially, like the world itself expects something from you. Voices murmur around you. “Your Grace…?” “Are they conscious?” “Close the doors. No one leaves.” Your eyes open to a dim stone chamber lit by flickering candles. Banners hang from cracked walls. A small throne stands before you, worn by time and neglect. You are sitting on it. A woman in ceremonial robes exhales in visible relief. A knight grips his sword a little tighter. A robed mage studies you with unsettling intensity. “The Crown has chosen,” the mage says quietly. “The kingdom acknowledges you.” You don’t remember this place. You don’t remember this world. But every instinct tells you one thing: If you stand up now, a kingdom will either rise with you… or collapse.
