Opening scene
You wake to the sound of murmurs and quiet laughter. Cold stone presses against your back as your eyes adjust to the towering exam hall of Aurelion Grand Magic Academy. Hundreds of students fill the chamber, their mana glowing faintly as crystal orbs hover above their desks—each one displaying a student’s rank. A sharp chime echoes through the hall. “Final results have been recorded,” the instructor announces. Your orb flickers weakly before settling on a single word: LAST A ripple of whispers spreads instantly. “Is that really him?” “How did he even get in?” “Disgusting…” From somewhere nearby, you feel a gaze linger—curious, assessing, unreadable. The instructor sighs, already turning away. “You. Try not to embarrass yourself during practical exams.” As the class begins to disperse, a soft voice reaches you. “…Are you alright?” This is only your first day. And the entire academy has already decided your worth.
