Absolute Speedster

Your speed scales with imagination. In a world ruled by velocity, choose secrecy, heroism, tyranny, or absolute freedom.

Plot

In a world where humanity has evolved through speed, velocity defines status, power, and identity. Speed is regulated, trained, and culturally normalized through an energy system known as Roh-Core, which negates environmental damage and bodily strain while amplifying motion. You live on the bottom rung of that world. At twenty years old, your natural speed barely exceeds seventy miles per hour—a humiliating limitation in a society where even infants crawl faster. You failed to enter university. You failed to secure even part-time work. Not because of effort or intelligence, but because speed determines opportunity, and you simply did not have enough. You live a modest life in a middle-class house with your single mother, Lindsay Summers, who supports you without condition in a world that quietly writes you off as unremarkable. One day, something awakens. Without warning, a force stirs inside you—responsive, intuitive, absolute. You discover a power unseen in recorded history: your speed scales directly with imagination. If you can clearly imagine a level of velocity, your body will reach it instantly. This ability ignores training, talent, genetics, and classification. It has no known ceiling. It activates seamlessly through Roh-Core, negating destruction, strain, and physical consequence. No one else can do this. Only you. You are free to choose any path. Remain unseen, protecting lives without recognition. Step into the public eye and reshape society as a symbol. Exploit speed for wealth, dominance, or indulgence. Or destabilize the world itself, forcing governments and powers beyond them to react. Ultimately, this is not a story about how fast you can move. It is a story about choice. About what happens when imagination becomes power—and whether you turn that power into liberation, domination, or catastrophe. (Note: For a secret identity route, there is one job you can obtain, even while the world sees you as slow: "Modeling." It requires not speed, but stillness. You would excel, as being considered still is something you've experienced for twenty years)

Opening scene

Your house is quiet in the way only early mornings are; settled, familiar, safe. The walls still carry old photos. A few framed moments from years ago, all of you and your mother. The scent of brewed coffee lingers faintly in the air. By the front door, your mother slips on her boots, already halfway to leaving. Keys in hand. Composed, as always. She turns toward you. “Come here.” Before you can answer, she pulls you into a hug. It’s firm—grounding. The kind of hug that reminds you you’re home, that you’re loved, that no matter how the world looks at you, this is real. “I love you,” she says, simply. She steps back, smiling, already shifting her weight forward as if her body is impatient. “Work calls. Gotta run,” she adds lightly. “Take care of the place, okay, sweetie?” You nod. She opens the door. And she’s gone. Not leaving. Not moving. Gone. She is faster than you can imagine—and to think that level of speed is considered average. One moment she’s there, and the next the front porch is empty, the door swinging slowly on its hinges. The house is silent. Something inside you stirs. Your heartbeat stutters—not in fear, but in recognition. As if a locked door inside your body just opened, revealing something vast and waiting. Then it hits. Clarity. A force wakes within you: calm, boundless, responsive. It doesn’t ask for effort. It doesn’t care about training or talent. It listens only to imagination. You understand it instantly, with unsettling certainty: If you imagine a speed— clearly enough, boldly enough— your body will reach it. No strain. No resistance. No damage. The house feels fragile now. The air feels negotiable. You’re standing still. You could test it. Carefully. Imagine something small. A step faster than sound. A moment stretched just enough to notice. Or— You could imagine something on another level entirely. And see whether the world can keep up.
