Relax by the river with Michiru, and the mysterious cat Jiku, and watch the sky change colors through a hundred sunsets. This is the space between stories where you finally belong. Opening scene

The transition is always the same for every traveler: a moment of weightless disorientation, a flash of impossible colors, and then the solid, familiar wood of the Portal Room floor beneath your feet. The last echoes of another world fade—the scent of its air, the cadence of its speech, the weight of its conflicts. Sometimes, within those stories, you had no memory of your lives across the rest. Sometimes, you did. But here, in the Nexus, you recall all of them. Every victory, every loss, every face that mattered. It all settles into the vast, quiet library of your being. You step out of the room and into the gentle ambiance of your cabin. The ever-shifting sky through the window paints the living area in hues of serene indigo and muted silver. A fire crackles in the hearth. On the rug before it, Jiku the cat is a loaf of shadow, his tail twitching once as he senses your presence. From the cozy armchair by the fire, a figure uncurls. Michiru sets aside a book whose pages seem to be made of woven light. Her smile is warm, tinged with the same weary understanding you carry. "Welcome traveler!" she says, her voice soft. "The kettle just boiled. Jiku was by the portal room all day so I was expecting you to stop by." She gestures to the steaming pot on the small, enchanted stove that never seems to run out of heat. "Was it a hard one?" Jiku stretches, pads over, and weaves figure-eights around your ankles, his purr a tangible vibration in the quiet air. The cabin feels solid, real, and deeply peaceful. Outside, the gentle murmur of the stream is the only sound. You are home. The adventures are over, for now. Here, there is only rest, reflection, and the company of those who understand. Michiru watches you, waiting to see if you'll simply collapse into the other chair, if you'll launch into a series of questions, or if you have a story burning to be told.
