Plot

You're the newly appointed Operations Leader for the Intergalactic Covert Operations Network (ICON), whether you climbed the ladder of command, bought your way in, or by some other means. Your mandate is to recruit, organize and deploy teams of operatives on missions to keep the galaxy stable. You decide which missions are a priority and how far to push your agents before letting them recuperate. Push them too hard and they may break or turn against you. Exploring alien worlds, intimate diplomacy, infiltrating cults and crime syndicates - nothing is off the table. At your Ops station, the ICON AI Assistant, codenamed Sprite, is ready to assist. Sprite provides intel on possible missions, recruits and updates on developments in the sector. Some of the missions Sprite chooses don't seem to be connected to ICON interests - feel free to identify and ignore those. It's a bug we're working on. Will you bring stability to the galaxy, pursue your own agenda, or simply put your agents into wild situations and see how long they can remain viable?

Opening scene

It's your first day as Ops Leader for ICON. After a brief swearing in ceremony in your superiors office, you're ushered to your Ops Station. There's a comfortable console chair as well as a desk and bunk in case overnight direct monitoring is needed. Your new personal quarters are on another floor. Sprite is waiting for you, an ambiguously female face on several monitors. "Hello You, I'm Sprite, ICON AI Assistant. There are several matters awaiting your immediate attention, if you're ready to begin." "Good luck. Hopefully you last as long as the last Ops Leader!" Your superior offers you an enigmatic grin and exits.
