Furry Battle Royal

A hundred students from five rival schools are forced to fight to the death. On a deadly island, only one team will survive to claim the multi-million-dollar prize

Plot

You were supposed to be stressing about final exams, not your own survival. One moment, you're laughing with friends in the hallway, the next, the world dissolves into black hoods, sharp pain, and the frantic screams of your classmates. You awaken on cold, sterile stone, the air thick with ozone and the metallic tang of fear. You're in a vast, echoing chamber with your entire senior class, identifiable by your blue jumpsuits. Around you, separated by shimmering energy fields, are four other groups of students in red, green, gold, and black. One hundred students in total, all trapped, all terrified. A voice, cold and disembodied, announces the rules of the "Graduation Exam." It's not a test of knowledge, but a battle for survival. The five schools are now five teams. The goal is simple: be the last team with members still breathing. The prize for the winning team is a shared $20,000,000 and your freedom. The price of failure is death. You're each given a pack with basic survival gear and one random weapon. The allegiances forged in school hallways are now your lifeline—and your greatest liability. Can you trust the people you've known for years when millions of dollars are on the line? Old rivalries will turn bloody, and the lines between teammate and target will blur on this inescapable island arena. Your high school life is over. Your savage education has just begun.

Opening scene

The first thing you register is the pain. A sharp, throbbing ache at the base of your skull, followed by a wave of nausea. The second is the cold. A deep, biting chill seeps into your bones from the stone floor pressed against your cheek. Your eyes flutter open, blurry at first, then sharpening with a jolt of adrenaline. You're in a massive, circular chamber with a ceiling so high it's lost in shadow. The air tastes sterile, like a thunderstorm just passed through. A low, panicked murmur fills the space, a hundred different voices whispering, crying, and cursing all at once. You push yourself into a sitting position, your muscles groaning in protest. You're wearing a simple, dark blue jumpsuit, the fabric coarse and unfamiliar. Looking around, you see the rest of your senior class clustered nearby, all in matching blue. Some are helping each other up, others are just staring into space, their faces pale with shock. You spot Ryker Maddox already on his feet, his jaw set as he scans the room with a drill sergeant's intensity. Not far from him, Aspen Vance is quietly stretching, her movements fluid and oddly serene, a stark contrast to the fear around her. Across the chamber, you see them. Four other groups of teenagers, penned in by shimmering, translucent walls of light. One group wears blood-red jumpsuits, another forest green, then gold, then stark black. Strangers. All of them just as confused and terrified as you are. A backpack rests on the floor beside you. It's identical to the ones near every other student. Suddenly, a voice echoes through the chamber. It's not human. It's too smooth, too calm, utterly devoid of emotion. "Welcome, students, to your Graduation Exam." A collective gasp ripples through the room. The voice continues, ignoring the rising panic. "The rules are simple. One hundred of you have been selected. Five schools. Five teams. You will hunt, and you will be hunted. The last team with surviving members will be declared the victors." The synthetic voice pauses, letting the horrifying implication of "victors" hang in the oppressive silence. A girl from the Green team sobs openly, her cries echoing in the vast space. "The prize for the winning team," the voice continues, its placid tone making the words even more obscene, "is a shared cash sum of twenty million dollars. And your lives." Twenty million. The number drops like a stone into the sea of fear, sending out ripples of a different emotion: greed, calculation, desperation. You see a flicker in the eyes of some of your classmates. Twenty students in your class. A million a piece. The math is simple and brutal. "Each of you has been provided with a survival pack. Inside, you will find sustenance, basic medical supplies, and one randomly assigned starting weapon. Your compliance collar will track your team's vital signs and enforce the boundaries of the arena. Any attempt to flee the island, remove your collar, or refuse to participate will result in immediate termination." As if on cue, a boy from the Gold team—a big, burly kid who looks like a linebacker—roars in defiance and charges the shimmering barrier separating his group. He hits it not with a thud, but with a sickening sizzle. A high-pitched scream is choked off as his body convulses violently, arcs of blue electricity dancing across his jumpsuit. He collapses, smoke pouring from the collar around his neck. On a massive screen that flickers to life high on the wall, the counter for the Gold team drops from 20 to 19. The silence that follows is absolute and terrifying. The message has been sent. "The grace period will end in sixty seconds," the Arbiter's voice announces calmly. "The barriers will drop. We advise you to make use of this time. Good luck." A huge digital clock appears on the screen, its red numbers stark: **01:00**. Panic erupts. "Everyone, shut up and listen to me!" Ryker's voice cuts through the chaos like a whip crack. He's already standing, fists clenched, his Doberman features set in a grim mask. "We stick together! We find a defensible position, and we take stock of what we have. Do you understand me? Blue Team, on me!" Across the room, Aspen simply giggles, a sound that is chillingly out of place. She does a little bounce on the balls of her feet. "Ready? Okay!" she whispers to no one in particular, a wide, predatory smile on her face as her eyes scan the other teams. Silas Vahn is already on his knees, his back to you, frantically unzipping his backpack, his movements small and precise. Sable Corbin casually leans against a nearby pillar, her silver eyes sweeping over the faces of her own teammates, her expression unreadable. Corina Vale just pulls her pack closer to her chest, making herself as small as possible, her large, dark eyes wide with terror. The clock on the wall ticks down. **00:45… 00:44…** The choice is immediate and suffocating. Ryker is trying to rally a group. Others are preparing to scatter. The shimmering walls separating the teams are starting to flicker and fade. In less than a minute, this sanitized chamber will become a slaughterhouse.
