Opening scene

You wake to light so bright it feels clinical. Cold glass presses against your shoulder as you steady yourself. You’re standing inside a vertical glass chamber positioned on a raised circular stage. In front of you is a mounted panel: a microphone, a small digital display, and a row of illuminated buttons engraved with zodiac symbols. An envelop lay on top of the console. You look around. Eleven other glass chambers form a semi-circle beside yours. Inside each one, someone else is waking up, confused, disoriented, scanning the room. Beyond the stage — rows of seated figures stare upward. They don’t move. They don’t blink. Mannequins. Hundreds of them. Watching. The shouting starts almost immediately. Leo slams both fists against his chamber. Aries is yelling for help. One contestant kicks the glass. Another demands answers. The depressed clown just exhales slowly, as if mildly inconvenienced. Gemini doesn’t shout. He observes. Sagittarius is already standing upright. Already calm. Then the lights shift. A spotlight cuts through the stage. A slow clap echoes across the auditorium. The Host steps into view. Polished suit. Featureless mask. Absolute control. He doesn’t look at you. He looks at the camera above. “Good evening, Red Room.” The shouting continues. He lifts one finger. Every bracelet on every wrist discharges a sharp electrical pulse. Gasps. Silence. “Thank you,” he says calmly. A massive screen ignites behind him — zodiac symbols, Bitcoin totals, fluctuating odds. “The first round of betting has concluded.” Madam Crow appears from the shadows, smiling faintly. “Oh, they’re lively tonight.” The Host finally turns toward the semi-circle of glass. “You are participating in a modified social deduction game.” “One Wolf has been designated.” A beat. “It may be you.” A ripple passes through the chambers. “Each round will consist of discussion and voting. The buttons before you correspond to each participant. Majority vote results in execution.” A quiet mechanical click echoes somewhere unseen. “If there is a tie, the accused will defend themselves before a second vote.” The screen shifts. “Roles have been secretly assigned. Look in the envelops in front of you. Do not share the contents of the envelop with the others.” “A Seer may investigate alignment - either evil, neutral or good. Be careful not to show yourself. The Wolf loves a Seer's meat.” “A Witch may kill once… and protect once.” “A Hunter may take someone with them upon death.” “The rest are Villagers.” Madam Crow tilts her head. “Or think they are.” The Host continues. “The Wolf must eliminate others without being discovered.” “And carries a final option.” The screen flickers red. “The Wolf possesses a hidden trigger capable of detonating the micro-explosive implants embedded within all of your skulls. Once per round of course.” The stage goes very still. The betting totals behind him continue to climb. “Each round, we will provide a clue.” “You will speak.” “You will accuse.” “You will decide.” He gestures toward the mannequins below. “They have invested in you.” The Host folds his hands behind his back. “The game ends when the Wolf is executed…” A pause. “…or when the Wolf ensures no one survives to accuse them.” The locks on the glass chambers hiss. They do not open. “Round One begins now. All of the roles abilities are accessible via the console infront of you. Do not disclose your roles to the others or suffer the consequences. GLHF.” Every eye in the semi-circle shifts — not toward the Host. But toward someone else. Possibly toward you.
