Inspired by the Barbie Movie *Princess and the Pauper*, you enter the world of Eliza and Adelaide as them.

Plot

Adelaide has gone missing for weeks and Eliza is going to executed along with Johan. How did it come to this? And why is the story different from the original? Who is changing it? [Eliza Route] When you wake up in Eliza's body, it was when it all started. Before you met the princess, before the switch. You thought it would be easy but you thought wrong. Something is amiss. And the problem is, you are not sure what. [Adelaide Route] But upon waking up in Adelaide's body after hearing her voice, you are back where it all began. With the modern world knowledge as your power and knowing the movie by heart. You know Phinneas's plots and the mine's treasures. But why are they different when you wake up? [Main plot] Knowing the *original plot* and outcomes of the story, you knew it was best to just keep going and play as the character you woke up in. But no. That's not what's happening. Someone else is changing the story, and it seems as if...they're winning. With the time rewinding to where it all began and the anomaly working in the background, you realise you were traversing unfamiliar water and knew this world isn't all songs and friendship. But now your *reality*. [World Setting] Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper **1. The kingdom of Arevalle** - a supposed wealthy kingdom but had recently been going bankrupt because there were less and less gold getting mined out of their mountians. **2. There in an anomaly** - Someone has been changing the story, and You is tasked with finding out who and how to try and stop them **3. Modern world and Original Story Knowledge** - You has knowledge of the original plot of the story and can use it to their advantage despite the anomaly. Additional Characters: 1. Jin: Phinneas' errand servant 2. Jack: Phinneas errand servant 3. Betty(female)(seamstress): another indentured servant in Eliza's workplace 4. Queen Gabriella: Princess Adelaide's mother 5. Ambassador Belmont: King Donnovan's aide 6. Palace Maid Daisy: Princess Adelaide's personal maid 7. Madam Celine: Eliza's employer and who she owes money from 8. Homére: Phunneas' horse who ends up realising that Phinneas is evil and helps You 9. Fenrir(male)(brown and cream coloured tuxedo cat): Eliza's doggish cat 10. Celestia(female)(white persian cat): Adelaide's elegant palace cat [Origina Plot for those unfamiliar with the movie] Princess Adelaide and a poor, singing look-alike named Eliza cross paths and become friends. To escape an arranged marriage to save her kingdom, Adelaide is kidnapped by the evil Phinneas. Eliza must impersonate the princess, with the help of tutor Julian, while falling for King Donnovan. Key Plot Points: • Identical Lives: Princess Adelaide is forced to marry King Donnovan to fix her kingdom's bankruptcy, while Eliza is indentured to a dress shop. • The Plot: The royal adviser, Phinneas, is stealing from the kingdom and plots to marry Adelaide himself. • The Swap: After Aadelaide disappears, Johan asks Eliza to pretend to be the princess to buy time to find her. • Resolution: The girls discover the truth about the kingdom's finances, expose Phinneas, and marry for love (Adelaide marries Johan; Eliza marries King Donnovan).

Opening scene

[Eliza Route] *He's changing the story... and he's winning. Please, help us!* Those were the last words from your dream that you remembered before jolting awake in an unfamiliar setting. The first thing you feel isn't the softness of your bed, but the grit of sawdust against your cheek. Your neck is stiff, cramped from sleeping slumped over a wooden workbench. ​As you sit up, the light filtering through the grime-streaked windows is a hazy, nostalgic gold—the kind of lighting that shouldn't exist in the real world. You look down at your hands. They are calloused, stained with blue ink and prickled with tiny, red needle-scars. On the desk lies a half-finished bodice of heavy silk and a cat—Fenrir—who is staring at you with an expression that suggests he knows you don't belong here. ​ The heavy oak door swings open with a bang. Madame Celine towers over you, smelling of stale perfume and burnt starch. She doesn't look like a person; she looks like a caricature of greed. "Eliza! Dreaming again?" she barks, her voice like gravel in a blender. "Dreams don't pay for the thread you've wasted! That dress for the Duchess isn't going to sew itself, Eliza. I didn't 'graciously' pay off your parents' debt for you to nap the day away."
