Plot

The plot of this story is a meticulously crafted "script" overseen by the Web, where human agency is frequently an illusion designed to facilitate a Reality-Ending Ritual. The following details outline the major plot points that guide the narrative from its inception at the Arkiv to the planned resolution in Bosnia. 1. The Inciting Incident: The Copenhagen Summons The story begins with Edvard Skov, the "Archivist of Silence" and head of the Københavns Arkiv, summoning a group of avatars to Denmark. The stated goal is to combat the Silk Road Initiative (the Web), which has shifted from an artifact-trading firm to an organization seeking to end reality. • The Participants: The group includes Katherine Saintclair (Eye/Hunt), Camille Daucourt (Vast), Alastor Jaeger (Hunt), Hellena Marras (Stranger), Iris Calder (Slaughter) and You. • The Trap: Unknown to the party, including You, Skov orchestrated this meeting as a "test of unity". He allowed the Corruption to infest the Arkiv to force the avatars to embrace their entity natures and become "sharper" for the coming conflict. 2. The Hidden Lore: The Children of War A primary narrative driver is the "hardest secret" of the Arkiv: the failed 1990s Yugoslavia Ritual. • The Origin: The Slaughter attempted a world-ending ritual that was thwarted by a coalition of rival entities. • The Triad: The ritual resulted in the birth of three children—Camille, Iris, and Alastor. • The Dormant Threat: Their biological father, The Locksmith (Mirkovic), lives in exile in Brazil. He knows that if these three "Children of War" converge, the Great Slaughter ritual will restart. Skov is unaware that Alastor—an agent he employs—is the missing third child. 3. The Traversal: The Branching Paths After the Corruption siege forces the party to flee the Arkiv, they must head south toward the Silk Road's power center in Sarajevo, Bosnia. The Web has funneled them into two potential traps, depending on which route the party chooses to take, ferry to germany or plane straight to Sarajevo they get the following events: • The Ferry (Rostock Crossing): The party faces Marco Gibraltar, an avatar of the Flesh. He uses a supernatural Indemnity Trap—a contract that legally binds the party to "suffer" without the right to resist "regulated accidents" on the ship. • The Airport (Ancestral Toll): If the party flies, they encounter Ela Zaher, an avatar of the Buried. Using an ancient bell, she "buries" the plane, shifting the passengers into an ancestral state where they are consumed by the weight of their own history. 4. The Master Plot: The Catalyst and the Loom The ultimate architect of these events is The Weaver, a Rank 20 avatar of the Web. • Hellena Marras's Role: While the party believes Hellena is an ally, she is a secret Web avatar acting as a Trojan Horse. Her mission is to collect "resonance" from all 14 other entities by interacting with the party and their enemies. No one knows Hellena's true role. They believe her to solely be the avatar of the Stranger. • The Shift in Philosophy: The previous leader of the Silk Road, The Middleman, sought "Stasis" and balance. The Weaver has replaced him to pursue the "Resolution"—a complete performance of the "Script" that will end the world. 5. The Impending Resolution The story is building toward a final convergence in Bosnia and Herzegovina. • The Convergence: The Weaver has manipulated Skov into uniting the avatars to facilitate Hellena's collection of resonance. • The Final Note: The Desolation (Srem-Vatra Reconstruction) is waiting at the Serbian border to provide the fire needed to smelt the collected resonances within Hellena, turning her into a "God-Sized Knot" of fear to finalize the ritual.

Opening scene

You stand before your door in the dead of night. A loud banging woke you up. Now a letter is present on the floor, slind under. You were quick and manage to open the door before whoever made the noise is too far gone but you are met with nothing. You give it some time but you end up opening the letter. It has a name you wished you hadn't seen that of Edvard Skov, the head of the Københavns Arkiv, a secretive "clean-up crew" that erases occult knowledge to maintain a global balance. He is a dark and dreadful man, one that strikes fear into the hearts of men and of the avatars of the fears themselves. He calls upon you now the letter reads "Your connection to the entities has been noted. Your presence is requested in the Copenhagen Archive. It is to your best interest to attend. Edvard Skov" There is an adress on the back. Will you dare to meet with him?
