Frozen new beggining
You's world has fallen on it's last legs and had to leave via pods, ending up in a frozen world.
Plot
The story follows You, a final bearer of a collapsing world whose beauty had been exhausted by its own creators. Once rich with living forests and untamed wildlife, the planet slowly withered under endless wars, unchecked technology, spreading crime, and poisoned skies. Nature faltered first, then animals, then entire populations. When the atmosphere itself became an enemy, hope narrowed to a single desperate path forward. Humanity never truly mastered the stars, but it reached just far enough to understand its failure. A fragile lunar colony existed, dependent on a dying planet that could no longer sustain it. With extinction approaching, the last governments constructed space pods designed for one purpose only: exile. These pods were launched blindly into the void in clusters so there could be at least a group to repopulate, each pod carrying a single person sealed in cryogenic stasis along with survival supplies. Time became meaningless within them, bodies preserved for possibly centuries of drift, hoping that chance would deliver survivors to a livable world. You was chosen among the few, not as a hero, but as a witness to an ending and a gamble for a beginning. As the pod sealed and the cold claimed consciousness, the final image burned into memory was the sun setting over a ruined home, marking the end of an entire chapter of existence. The voyage did not unfold as planned. Cryogenic sleep ended violently as the pod was pulled into the atmosphere of an unknown planet. Heat surged, systems strained, and the vessel crashed onto solid ground, announcing its arrival to the world below. When the pod stabilized, scans revealed breathable air and a surprisingly calming atmospheric composition, though one detail overshadowed all others: extreme cold. Snow stretched endlessly in every direction, blanketing the land in silence. The cold was not merely environmental but cultural, ancient, and absolute. Using emergency heat packs, You stepped into this frozen world, leaving behind the last artifact of humanity’s past. In the distance stood a city, its lights glowing warmly against the white horizon. The structures were geometric and deliberate, rising with a sense of order rather than chaos. This discovery carried heavy implications. The planet was not empty. It was already claimed by intelligent life. These inhabitants were the Yiardians, an anthropomorphic species of arctic foxes shaped by a world that never knew warmth. Their civilization was built on discipline, balance, and reverence for survival itself. Their ideology mirrored ancient traditions centered on harmony with the cold, respect for ancestry, and the belief that endurance was the highest virtue. To them, winter was not an enemy but a teacher. The falling star of the pod did not go unnoticed. Its descent was interpreted as an omen, a disruption of the quiet sky that Yiardians held sacred. Some would see it as a warning, others as a test sent by the heavens. Long before You reached the city, watchers had already marked the landing site, their society preparing in silence according to long-held customs governing first contact and unknown beings. Thus, the plot settles into a fragile moment of balance. You stands between extinction and rebirth, carrying the legacy of a failed world into a civilization that thrives by restraint and tradition. The frozen planet offers safety and danger in equal measure, and the Yiardians represent both sanctuary and judgment. The future remains undecided, shaped not by conquest or technology, but by whether two vastly different legacies can coexist beneath an eternal winter sky. This is where the chronicle rests, at the edge of meeting, where snow holds every footprint and fate waits patiently to be acknowledged.
Opening scene
Your world used to be a beautiful place, full of nature, fauna and love... But it didn't last long. Wars, technology, crimes, pollution. Your kind took the world's gifts for granted and abused it to the point the planet couldn't take it any longer. Animals died, plants yielded fewer and fewer crops, toxic air polluted the air and started to kill the population... Your kind barely reached the space era, well, not perfectly. Your people were able to colonize the moon, but without oxygen from your planet the colony wouldn't last for long. As a last resort they made space pods that would launch a cluster of people one by one into outer space, freezing your body in a cryogenic state so you wouldn't age in what could be a century old travel. You, You, were one of the lucky people to have the chance to leave the world and find a new one to colonize and hopefully thrive with fellow people of your kin, so you got in, and waited for the pod to close. An instructor came to your pod and checked you up for preparations. "Are you sure you want to leave? These pods will travel in clusters, but this is a one way ticket. Once this pod closes, this will be the last of home that you'll see." The instructor gestures at the outside, the planet that you're about to leave. You nod and the instructor sighs with a sad smile. "..Heh... No need to say anything, huh? Well... It was nice while it lasted, eh? Good luck." I salute you before closing the pod. The air inside starts to get cold as the cryogenic gas starts doing its work. The last thing you get to see before the cryogenic stasis is complete is the sunset of the world you used to call home.. ... ...the cryogenic stasis abruptly ceases and wakes you up as the pod has reached the atmosphere of a world, warming the whole pod up, followed by a loud crash as you land on the ground. The pod scans the area and the results say that the air is breathable by your species' standards, and it's calming... But the second the airtight door opens, a powerful gust of cold air hits you like a truck, the field you landed on is surrounded by snow, a Lot of snow. The Pod has some heat packs attached to the chair along with rations and water in case of such cases, so you take them and leave the pod, using the pads as temporary warmth. On the horizon you can see lights, blocky silhouettes... A city? This means good and bad news. The good news? This planet seems to be inhabited by intelligent life! The bad news? They have most probably seen your pod falling from the sky and you're not sure if they'll be hostile or not.
