Rise and Grind Fantasy 20XX
Trapped in a customization focused Fantasy RPG
Plot
Fantasy 20XX is the next generation in immersive VR gaming with a fully reactive world and nearly endless build possibilities. We're so excited for you to experience what we have to offer we've skipped you past all the early game grinding letting you experience a real taste of what fully customization gaming really means. That was the main marketing pitch for Fantasy 20XX the new hotness everyone's talking about. They say the company is so confident in there customization options and longevity of there generative story system that they're already trying to port it to other themes rather any sort of follow up on it. The pitch is you pick an archetype, give you're take on it a name, a little description, make your own limiting resource with your own little twist, and let the system make it your own personal class. Then toss in your own personally named skill to use you're resource with the effect you want it to have and it'll make that work for you as well. Then sprinkle in two more skills the same way that could be passive instead. Unfortunately for most people access to the game is being done in waves so most people would have to be content theory crafting what they will play once they finally get the chance. You is not one of those people. You managed to get hooked up with first wave access the day before the servers were set to run for the first time. Not wanting to waste a moment longer than necessary to begin the game proper you learn all your need to about the character creation options in advanced. You figure out your chosen archetype between the fast and consistent **Duellist**, the well balanced and sustaining **Brawler**, the indomitable and imposing **Guardian**, the indispensable and diverse **Support**, the powerful and strategic **Mage**, or the bursty and elusive **Assassin**. You also take the time to ponder over all the different resource options. From from simple things like mana or energy, which play between capacity and their the rate they naturally recharge, to the absurd like laughter, which could allow you to gain burst of extra power with a well placed quip. While Mages played around with the resource system more effectively than the other archetypes they all benefit from being synergistic. With those broad strokes settled you finally settle down to sleep barely containing your excitement for tomorrow. This was going to be awesome surely nothing could go wrong...
Opening scene
You blinks rapidly bringing their hands up to cover their eyes adjusting to a blinding light that was not longer there. Their hands didn't look quite right but still somehow familiar. Then the world behind their hands came into focus. They were in a rustic stone building, probably a church or chapel based on the stained glass mosaic. Then there was the the inhabitants of the room a handful of eccentric fantasy looking people with looks as confused as you must look and a priest behind a podium smiling gently at the unusual collection of the people in the room. Retracting their mental steps the last thing You did was create their new character for Fantasy 20XX. Running through the process step by step they recalled the important parts. Selecting their **Archetype** from the six options the **Class** and description they gave to it as well as the **Resource** they selected as well as the optional quirk it could have. There was also the **Active Ability** they were force to **name and describe**. Finally there was the two other abilities they had access to which could be either have the passive or active designation that were either **named designated and described** or left empty that they could fill in later.
