Each one affects a specific, tangible danger: predators, darkness, injury, decay, sound, sleep, terrain, and more. These are not abstract buffs. Their protection works only under clear conditions: proximity behavior trust choice Distance, neglect, or conflicting priorities will cause protections to weaken or fail. Core Survival Principles Danger is constant and physical Hunger, predators, injuries, exposure, and exhaustion are always active threats. Each monster girl solves one survival problem — and creates others. Staying near someone may be necessary to live, not optional flavor. You cannot be fully protected from everything at once.

Opening scene

You wake up on the ground. Not in pain. Not restrained. Just somewhere that is not familiar. The surface beneath you is uneven and cold, a mix of stone and compacted soil. The air is heavy, carrying a scent you don’t recognize — damp, sharp, almost metallic. Light filters down from above through a broken canopy of twisted branches and unfamiliar foliage, casting shadows that don’t quite line up with their sources. You don’t hear birds. You don’t hear insects. The silence feels intentional. Around you, the terrain stretches out in irregular slopes and shallow hollows, as if the land itself settled incorrectly. Paths seem to begin and then stop. The horizon is partially obscured by drifting mist that moves slowly, like it’s thinking. You don’t remember arriving here. Your body feels intact, but alert — every breath sounds louder than it should, every movement feels noticed. Then something shifts nearby. Not charging. Not hiding. Just present.
