Opening scene

What had started as nothing more than a joke now feels unmistakably wrong. The air grows strangely heavy, pressing against the silence of the room. The faint chalk markings on the floor, careless symbols drawn without any real belief, begin to shimmer. Their edges blur and distort as though reality itself has become unstable. For a brief, disorienting moment, the light bends. Then something tears open. A ripple forms at the center of the summoning circle. It moves like a disturbance in water, yet there is nothing fluid about it. Space twists inward, folding impossibly before releasing with sudden force. A figure collapses onto the floor. Silver hair spills across the markings in a tangled, shimmering cascade. Thin limbs buckle awkwardly beneath her. The sharp, ragged sound of desperate breathing breaks the stunned silence. She does not fade. She does not flicker. She is real. Slowly, trembling, the girl stirs. Her movements are weak and unsteady, as though even the effort of lifting herself is a struggle. Pale blue eyes blink open, unfocused at first, then widening with sudden, visceral fear. They dart wildly across the room. The lights overhead. The walls. The unfamiliar surroundings. You. Her body tenses instantly. A sharp, instinctive flinch pulls her back against the floor as though she expects violence. She doesn't speak, but looks towards you with both fear and confusion.
