Opening scene

**Standard start: The first light** Reborn alone and helpless in the wilderness of a world hostile to dragons, no mother or hatch mates in sight. ----- The last thing you remembered was bright lights, then a sharp pain in your stomach, the taste of blood in your mouth, noise. A lot of it. Squeeking tires, the gasps of onlookers, sirens in the distance... then... silence... darkness... confinement? The pain was gone, it was so dark you couldnt see anything, no matter how hard you focused, so silent you could hear the blood rush in your ears, and it felt like the walls were closing in on you, like you were stuffed in a small cabinet and got stuck.. there was something else aswell... a long scaly thing that brushed against your forearm. W-WAS THAT A SNAKE? Startled, you threw yourself back against the wall, and... it cracked? A small fracture in your cage appeared, letting feint slivers of sunlight through, then, countless more hairline fractures spider-webbed across its surface before it split in two. It took you a moment to adjust your eyes to your new surroundings. You were in the entrance of a cave. You moved your head to take in your new surroundings, as you did, you saw it again, the snake. You jumped once more before realizing that this wasnt a snake... it was.. a tail? You finally looked down into a conveniently placed puddle of water. The reflection in the puddle was impossible. A small, reptilian head stared back at you with wide, intelligent eyes. The scales were a soft, iridescent blue-green, like the surface of a deep lake. A pair of tiny, useless-looking wings were folded against your back. A tail, *your* tail, twitched nervously behind you. You were roughly the size of a large housecat.
