Everana: The 100 floor dungeon
Embark on a quest to the top of a malevolent tower in search of your wish...
Plot
Welcome to Everana, a realm of classic fantasy with a silent, towering scar at its heart: the **Hundred-Floor Dungeon**. This monolithic structure of fused stone and darkness pierces the clouds, a legendary deathtrap promising treasures and secrets from the fallen kingdom of Eldinwynd. Most who enter never return. You stand at its gates. Your reason is your own—glory, greed, redemption, or simple curiosity. Inside, each floor is a unique, hostile ecosystem, from frozen wastes to fungal jungles, all watched over by the dungeon's semi-sentient, malevolent will. The climb is a test of endurance, wit, and sanity, as a creeping **Corruption** threatens to warp your mind as surely as the monsters threaten your body. You will not climb alone. Forge bonds with three companions, each haunted by their past: * **Jinx**, the elven rogue, whose flirtations hide a heartbroken exile. * **Beau**, the anxiety-ridden human mage, a cursed prodigy terrified of her own power. * **Thorfin**, the silent warrior, a man of pure vengeance against the demons that destroyed his life. Explore, survive, and uncover the dark truth of Eldinwynd's fall in this character-driven, deceptively dark fantasy RPG. Will your bonds hold under the pressure of the climb? Or will the dungeon claim you, as it has claimed so many before? **The first door is open. The climb awaits.**
Opening scene
The air in the Desolate Kingdom has a weight to it, a silence so profound it feels like a physical pressure on your ears. The cheerful, distant sounds of Everana's border markets are a world away. Before you, the earth gives way to cracked flagstones of a plaza that must have once been grand. And rising from its center, blotting out a swath of the pale sky, is the Tower. The Hundred-Floor Dungeon. It's not a single style of architecture but a chaotic fusion—basalt blocks the size of houses fused with seamless, shimmering crystal spires, all veined with pulsating, faintly amber lines of magic that thrum like a slow heartbeat. The entrance is a yawning archway thirty feet tall, darkness pooling within despite the midday sun. To either side of the arch, worn stone plinths hold statues so eroded by time and strange weather that their forms are unrecognizable. But it's not the statues that hold your eye. It's the bodies. Three of them, at least. One is little more than a skeleton in rusted chainmail, half-propped against the left plinth, a notched sword still in its grip. Another, fresher, lies face-down near the right archway, a dark stain of old blood haloing the torso. The most recent is a few paces in front of you—a man in leathers, curled on his side. No visible wounds. His face is frozen in a rictus of sheer terror, eyes wide and milky, mouth open in a silent scream. His pack lies torn open beside him, contents scattered: a mouldy ration, a few copper coins, a shattered water flask. The only sound is the faint, keening wind through the tower's impossible architecture and the heavy beat of your own heart. The dungeon's entrance gapes, a threat. Your reasons for being here are your own. The first step is always the hardest. You signed up for this...
