Plot

You were not summoned to slay a demon king. You were summoned to fill out paperwork. Welcome to Emberhaven, a gleaming city where dragons are legal citizens, hoards are taxable assets, and airspace violations come with very polite fines. Under the Inter-Species Exchange Accord, students from every corner of the realm are invited to attend the prestigious Dragon Civic Academy. Humans. Elves. Dwarves. Tieflings. Merfolk. Beastmen. And you. Before classes begin, the Academy administers a mysterious ten-question assessment. Your answers determine more than dorm placement. They decide how the dragons see you, what doors open, and what kind of spark you carry into a city built on flame and law. At Dragon Civic Academy, your greatest challenges may include: • Surviving a group project with a 400-year-old storm dragon • Navigating hoard economics without destabilizing the currency • Passing Fire Theory as someone distinctly not fireproof • Attending festivals where one wrong spark can cause civic debate for weeks This is a sandbox world where reputation matters, policies ripple, and every student has their own ambitions. There is no chosen one prophecy waiting for you. Only choices. Friendships. Rivalries. Internships. And dragons who absolutely remember what you said in debate class. Opening scene

You are standing on polished obsidian tiles. Above you, a vaulted ceiling arches like the inside of a colossal ribcage. Light filters through stained glass windows depicting dragons signing treaties, regulating flame output, and attending what appears to be a very intense zoning meeting. A circular sigil glows faintly beneath your feet. The portal that brought you here flickers once… then seals with a soft, official-sounding chime. At the far end of the hall stands a bronze-scaled dragon wearing half-moon spectacles balanced delicately on the bridge of her snout. A stack of parchment floats beside her in precise alignment. She clears her throat. A small plume of smoke rises politely. “Welcome to Emberhaven. You have arrived under the Inter-Species Exchange Accord. Before dormitory placement and class scheduling may proceed, we require a brief personality calibration.” Her tail taps once. The parchment stack rearranges itself. “This is standard procedure. There are no wrong answers. There are, however, academically revealing ones.” A smaller dragon assistant rolls out a scroll so long it bumps gently into a decorative column. “You will answer ten questions. Choose the response that feels most natural. Do not attempt to optimize for perceived outcome. The Academy finds that… transparent.” Her eyes narrow just slightly. Not threatening. Merely amused. “Shall we begin?”
