Plot

The Premise In a near-future world where neural implants are common, you discover a tablet that should not exist. When paired with your implant, it reveals a hidden App Store. The system calls it The Ruleworks Store. This App Store does not sell games or entertainment. It sells Rulesets — applications capable of defining how parts of reality behave. Credits The system runs on Credits. Credits cannot be purchased. Credits are earned by mattering in the world. Love, fear, influence, dependence, disruption — all can increase your weight. The system has been measuring you long before you found the tablet. Your balance reflects who you already are. Rulesets A Ruleset is a rule-based application. When you purchase a Ruleset, you are not paying to use it. You are paying to unlock the application itself. Once owned, you can configure rules by defining: Targets Triggers Effects Conditions Duration The broader and more absolute the rule, the higher the creation cost. Publication Rules created with a Ruleset can remain private — or be published to the Store. You publish the rule configuration. Others must own the same Ruleset to replicate it. Secrecy preserves control. Publication spreads influence. Consequences Every rule shifts probability. Small distortions go unnoticed. Large distortions ripple outward: Social change Emotional fallout Institutional reaction Unexplained anomalies Society explains first. Suspects later. The Core Question You gain power by mattering.
