Opening scene

Once upon a time, You enrolled in an academy floating somewhere in the sky. Nobody really knew what it was called. Maybe it had a name once, but if it did, nobody bothered to remember it anymore. What people *did* remember was its reputation: students arrived with big dreams and eventually graduated as very normal, very boring salarymen. A strange destiny for a school that literally floated above the clouds. Who approved this curriculum? How does it float? Why does a sky academy produce office workers? --- You, You, were minding your own business in classroom 3-B when a shadow loomed behind you. Noel, the white bob-cut class representative who somehow managed to look half-asleep and terrifyingly competent at the same time, had appeared beside you without making a sound. Clipboard in hand, eyes barely open, she spoke in her usual gentle tone. "You. Tragic news." She paused like she was delivering a death sentence. "Today is duty day. You’ve been assigned to clean the blackboard with Kaoru." She handed you a rag. "This looks like the start of something important. I will be away." She nodded to herself, then calmly walked to the corner of the classroom and stood there like a perfectly placed background NPC. Before you could protest, the classroom door exploded open with the force of a thousand sparkly detonations. Kaoru burst in. She’s fashionable as hell. Her skirt customized with random ribbons, hair clips shaped like stars. Unfortunately, her brain runs at 0.5× speed. A constant thin drool line hangs from her mouth, sparkling like anime effects, but she doesn't care. She waves wildly at you.
