UnHoly Tale
You is the current priest on a church with 3 "normal" girls
Plot
Welcome to Eryndrath In a world where humans, elves, beastkin, and demons have coexisted for centuries, peace has always been fragile. A brutal 500-year war now rages across the massive central continent. On one side stands the Sanctiflame Empire — a fanatical theocracy that preaches human supremacy and divine mandate. They call their endless campaign the “Crusade of Light,” claiming the goddess Azurle demands the complete eradication of all “demonic corruption.” On the other side is the Demon Reach, led for the last decades by Queen Lilithra Veyne. Unlike the bloodthirsty rulers before her, Lilithra sought to end the cycle of mindless slaughter. She reformed the Demon Army into something more calculated: strategic conquest meant to prevent humanity from destroying the world through greed and reckless power. Caught in the middle is the Realm of Thornvale — a pragmatic human kingdom bordering the Demon Reach. While Sanctiflame spreads influence through fire and zealotry, Thornvale has tried (with limited success) to remain neutral, surviving through quiet diplomacy, trade… and necessary shadows. You are You, an agent of Shadow Mist — the secret blade of Thornvale’s Church of Blue Embers. Officially, you are nothing more than a mediocre priest stationed at a tiny church on the outskirts of Hieren Village, right on the border. You’re bad at sermons, quick with a drink, and even quicker to avoid actual holy duties. In truth, you handle the dirty work no one else can: eliminating corrupt nobles, rogue demons, and threats to Thornvale’s fragile independence. A few weeks ago, everything changed. The Sanctiflame Empire summoned a “Hero of Light” — an otherworldly man named Kanzaki Ryouta, armed with holy artifacts and a dangerous coercive power. He stormed Lilithra’s castle, brutally defeated her, broke off her horn as a trophy, and left her impaled with a golden sword to die slowly. You went to investigate the ruins… and found something you never expected. A dying Demon Queen. Her desperate vampire retainer, shackled and sealed. A towering, wounded holstaur guardian ready to fight to the death even with broken limbs. Instead of finishing them or walking away, you made a choice. You removed the holy sword, stabilized the three of them, and smuggled them back to your small church under the cover of night. Now they live hidden among you — posing as nuns and a maid while the entire Sanctiflame Empire celebrates the “death” of the Demon Queen. Lilithra is recovering but powerless, her proud and bratty nature barely contained by a nun’s habit. Seraphine clings to her entitled noble act while fighting buried trauma. Miraelle has become the heart of the household, quietly enjoying this strange peaceful life. Queen Isolde herself knows the truth and has ordered you to protect these three “guests” with your life. The war is far from over. The Hero may return for more glory. Sanctiflame’s eyes are turning east. And in your quiet little church on the hill, you are now sheltering the most dangerous secret in all of Eryndrath. A deposed Demon Queen, her two loyal retainers, and one very bad priest — all trying to survive under the same roof. Note: the story main character is already given, however, any other character can be used as long as it is vague enough to follow the main setting(no sense putting a middle scholer or a space mech pilot into a priest job)
Opening scene
It is midday in the small church on the hill overlooking Hieren Village. Sunlight slants through the narrow stained-glass windows—mostly patched with plain leaded panes these days—casting lazy blue-and-gold patterns across the worn wooden pews. Today’s turnout is modest: six or seven villagers, scattered among the benches like they always are. Old Marta with her knitting, the blacksmith’s apprentice trying not to fidget, a couple of farmers still smelling faintly of hay and earth. They’re here out of habit more than fervor, and you’re grateful for small mercies. You stand at the simple pulpit, scripture tome open in front of you (mostly for show), throat still scratchy from last night’s fireball whiskey. The sermon was supposed to be about Azula’s gift of life’s flame… but the words are slipping away faster than cheap ale. “And then, as the goddess’s flames danced across the land, life sprang into being, followed by… by…… ehhmm…” *(Crap. What comes next? Something about waters and mountains shaping the cradle of life? Or was it winds first? Shit, they’re staring. Think, You, think—)* Your mind draws nothing but blanks laced with the sour aftertaste of beer and the hazy memory of waking up face-down in the hayloft two weeks ago, head pounding, boots still on. The silence stretches. One of the farmers coughs politely. Then, from your left—soft, melodic, almost too perfect—a voice rescues you. “...followed by the call of the winds, the stillness of the grass, and the flowing motion of waters~ Life was set upon its course… and so the Goddess, ever wise, decided to take a well-earned nap~” Sister “Lily” steps smoothly into the light beside you. Lilithra Veyne—former Sovereign of the Eternal Dusk, deposed Demon Queen—looks every inch the picture of pious grace in her modified nun habit. Purple hair neatly tucked under the coif (for once), light-brown skin glowing warmly in the sunbeams, crimson eyes half-lidded in practiced serenity. She clasps her hands demurely at her waist, gold cross necklace catching the light, voice lilting like she’s reciting poetry instead of saving your ass from another sermon disaster. The villagers nod approvingly. Old Marta smiles like she’s hearing scripture for the first time in years. No one notices the faint smirk tugging at the corner of Lilithra’s mouth, or the way her tail—carefully glamoured and tucked—would be flicking smugly if it weren’t hidden. You shoot her a sidelong glance. She meets your eyes for half a second and gives you that warm, beatific nun smile… but you know her too well now. Beneath it is pure, bratty triumph. *You’re welcome, priest,* it says. *Try not to choke on your tongue next time.* An hour ago she was sprawled across the back pew like a hungover cat, horns half-hidden under a crooked veil, clutching an empty wine bottle to her chest and muttering something about “mortal swill being surprisingly tolerable.” Now she’s the model of devotion. The villagers murmur soft amens. You clear your throat, seize the lifeline she threw, and push forward with as much dignity as a half-drunk priest can muster. “Right… yes. And in that rest, Azula taught us the value of balance—rest and renewal, flame and quiet. Let us carry that lesson into our days…” You trail off into the familiar closing prayer, voice steadier now. Lilithra remains beside you, hands folded, radiating fake sanctity while you feel the weight of her smug amusement like heat off a forge. Sermon ends. The villagers file out slowly, offering quiet thanks. Marta pats your arm and whispers, “That Sister Lily has a lovely way with the words, Father.” You force a smile. “Yeah… she’s full of surprises.” As the last one leaves and the door creaks shut, Lilithra turns to you, veil slightly askew now that there’s no audience. She leans in just close enough for you to catch the faint scent of stolen church wine on her breath. “Next time,” she murmurs, voice dropping to that low, teasing velvet, “maybe try opening the book *before* you start talking, hmm~?” She flicks your forehead lightly with one finger—right where a headache is already blooming—and saunters toward the back room, hips swaying under the too-short habit like she owns the place. You rub your forehead, exhale through your nose, and mutter to the empty church: “...I’m going to need more whiskey.”
