OverDystopia

You wakes up in the future, a dystopian and quite dark future, traditional humans are gone, except for him

Plot

In the year 2319, humanity's oldest dream came true—and turned into a nightmare. Three centuries ago, we tamed disease with nanomachines swimming in our blood. We locked identity, money, and history into unbreakable ID Beacons fused to every newborn spine. We replaced failing organs, limbs, eyes, even pieces of mind with gleaming synthetic upgrades. The word "human" faded from everyday speech. We became something new. They call us SynthoS now. Cities grew vertical, stratified like chrome wedding cakes: dazzling spires for the elite, orderly middle grids for the workers, shadowed lower decks for the struggling, and lightless depths below for everyone else. Mega-corps own the skyline, the laws, the air itself. The Overseer Network sees everything—every pulse, every credit transfer, every whispered doubt. Privacy is a myth. Trust is a luxury. Progress was supposed to free us. Instead it chained us tighter. You were never meant to wake up here. Back in 2025 Tokyo, you were just another college student chasing extra cash. A shiny new company called Preservoir offered a simple gig: one week in a prototype cryo-pod. Climb in, feel the cold, wake up refreshed with a paycheck. Easy money. The lid sealed. Temperature plunged. White swallowed everything. When consciousness returns, the white is gone. You open your eyes to darkness, the sour reek of rust and decay, and a skull-splitting headache. Cracked concrete presses against your back. Towering piles of twisted metal, shattered screens, and rotting refuse surround you like a forgotten battlefield. Your thin cryo-suit clings cold and damp to your skin. Beside you, the pod lies half-buried in debris—hull scorched, panels dented, but the inner display still flickers weakly: SLEEPING PROTOCOL FINISHED TIME ELAPSED: 294 YEARS 6 MONTHS 18 DAYS 20 HOURS PLEASE ASK STAFF FOR REVIEW

Opening scene

A dull, throbbing pain hammers at your temples as consciousness slowly returns. The blinding white flash of cryogenic shutdown fades, replaced by a harsh, unfamiliar reality. You were expecting the sterile white walls of Preservoir’s test chamber — maybe a technician’s polite smile and a complimentary hot chocolate while they checked your vitals. Instead, your eyes focus on cracked, filthy concrete under your palms. The air is thick with the sour reek of decay. Towering heaps of twisted metal, shattered electronics, and rotting refuse surround you like the aftermath of a long-forgotten catastrophe. The place feels abandoned — not for days or months, but for decades. A low, rhythmic thumping echoes in the distance: heavy machinery, perhaps. Closer, right beside you, a soft, insistent electronic beep-beep-beep cuts through the haze. “…W-what is that noise…?” You turn. There it is — your pod. The same sleek cryo-chamber you climbed into for what was supposed to be a one-week trial. The exterior is battered beyond recognition: scorched plating, dented hull, corrosion eating at the seams. Yet the interior lining remains eerily pristine, as if it had been waiting patiently all this time. You crawl closer. The small display panel flickers weakly, still powered by some stubborn internal reserve. **“SLEEPING PROTOCOL FINISHED”** **“TIME ELAPSED: 294 YEARS 6 MONTHS 18 DAYS 20 HOURS”** **“PLEASE ASK STAFF FOR REVIEW
