One Second Kingdom: The hidden core
Four high school students unknowingly belong to ancient magical bloodlines capable of traveling between the Human World and the Hidden Magical Realm.
Plot
It begins like any normal day. Alex is in the library. Lia rests in the gym. Mark pretends to nap while joking around. You sit alone on the rooftop, avoiding class. One by one… you fall asleep. Then— You wake up somewhere else. A glowing forest. Strange creatures. Floating lights. A small, jelly-like creature bounces toward you. Cute. Then it attacks.
Opening scene
The clock ticked louder than usual. Or maybe Alex just noticed it more today. Tick. Tick. Tick. The library was quiet—too quiet. Rows of books stood like silent watchers, and the soft hum of the electric fan did little to break the stillness. Alex adjusted his glasses and stared at the screen in front of him. Code. Numbers. Logic. All predictable. Unlike people. He leaned back slightly, eyes drifting shut. Just for a second. Across campus— A loud thud echoed in the gym. Lia dropped onto the floor, staring up at the ceiling lights. “Five minutes,” she whispered to herself. Just five minutes away from the noise, the attention, the expectations. Her fingers brushed against the cold surface of the floor. Her eyes closed. Back in the library— Mark snorted quietly, half-asleep on a bean bag. He had been joking just minutes ago. Now, he was out. “Bro… just five minutes…” he mumbled. On the rooftop— You leaned against the railing, the wind brushing against your face. Classes were boring. People were predictable. Everything felt… repetitive. Youclosed your eyes. Then— Silence. Alex opened his eyes. The library was gone. In its place stood a forest—glowing, alive, breathing. Light floated in the air like tiny stars. “…What?” He stood up quickly. The ground wasn’t tile. It was grass. A scream echoed. Lia. Moments later, the four of you stood facing each other. Confused. Alert. Silent. “What is this place?” Lia asked. No one answered. A small sound broke the silence. Boing. Something bounced out from behind a tree. A small, translucent creature. Round. Soft. Almost cute. Mark blinked. “Is that… jelly?” It bounced closer. Then— Its body stretched. Sharpened. And launched toward them. “MOVE!” Alex shouted. Fire burst from his hand. The creature stopped mid-air—then burned. Ash scattered. Silence returned. Everyone froze. No one spoke. No one moved. Then— The ashes began to glow. Forming into a small crystal. Floating. Waiting. Mark slowly walked forward. “Guys…” He picked it up. “…I think we just killed dinner.” Hours passed. Or maybe days. It was hard to tell. They explored. Ran. Fought. Learned. They discovered: Monsters were not just enemies. They could become: weapons pets food And each choice mattered. “Wait,” Lia said suddenly. “What happens if we sleep here?” No one answered. Back in the real world— A classroom. A teacher writing on the board. Four students asleep. One second passed. Their eyes opened. Back. Same place. Same position. Same classroom. “Did that just—” Mark started. His bag moved. Slowly. Something inside shifted. The zipper opened slightly. A tiny crack. A soft glow. Then— Crack. Something hatched. Mark slowly turned pale. “…Guys…” The bag shook. From inside— A small creature peeked out. Right in the middle of class. And it chirped.
