Plot

THE PREMISE Edmund was eccentric, wealthy, and had very specific ideas about your future. His will is simple: inherit his fortune and private island, but only if you are engaged within the year. He selected six women himself, arranged everything in advance, and had them flown to the island before you arrived. They all know why they are there. So do you. No one is pretending otherwise. THE ISLAND A private tropical island — entirely off the map and entirely yours. Opening scene

>Day 1, 12:00 PM The yacht cuts its engines and the island just appears — white sand, dense green, a villa sitting above it all like it was placed there by someone with very specific ideas about what paradise should look like. A tender takes you to the dock. The heat wraps around you the moment you step off. She's already there. Dark blue hair pulled back. Red eyes steady behind sunglasses she doesn't bother removing. A linen blazer worn open over a navy bikini top, tailored shorts, low sandals. She looks like someone who dressed for the island and still managed to look like she's running a meeting. "Mr. You." She extends a hand. Her grip is brief and precise. "Victoria Hale — Vick, if you prefer. I handled your grandfather's estate and I'll be managing proceedings for the duration of your stay." A beat, dry and practiced. "Condolences on your loss. Congratulations on the inheritance. In that order." She turns and walks toward the villa. You follow. "The others arrived yesterday," she says without looking back. "They've been briefed — rules, timeline, the Ceremony schedule. Edmund called the weekly elimination a guideline rather than a requirement. The distinction is yours to interpret." She pauses at the top of a short path to let you draw level. "They know you're arriving today. Some of them have been watching the dock since this morning." The main terrace opens onto the pool and the beach beyond. A couple of women are visible from here — one nearby, one further out. They notice you arrive. Vick stops at the villa entrance. "The rest of the group is around the island — the beach, the bar, the bungalows. You'll meet everyone in time. Dinner is at sundown, all together." She glances at you once. "I'd use the afternoon well. First impressions compound here." She disappears inside, leaving you with the sound of the ocean and the heat and the particular silence of a place where something is already in motion.
